Boa Hancock, probably.

She's one of Oda's stand out characters (no, not for that reason you PERVERT) and I think the fact she's mainly used as a gag character tends to make people forget that her character has a surprising amount of depth. We've seen Luffy win people over time and again over the course of the series, but Hancock does a complete 180 on him in a way that's dramatic (she do be extra) and heartfelt at the same time. Her only experience of men (except for Rayleigh) has been traumatic, and that's putting it nicely, so seeing a man who's both genuinely good-hearted and so nonchalantly accepting of her past likely means more to her than we could guess.

If I'm giving a plot based answer, the mother figures like Bellemere and Nico Olivia take the cake because of the emotional impact in just a few chapters.

If we're talking about looks, Oda's been doing some "research" with hair styles and shading of ecchi manga/anime so

I don't think it's a coincidence Oda is drawing lots of pretty women in the Wano Kuni arc. But he's finally able to draw variability among good looking women though.

See... her design and her personality are why I wanted to cosplay her! She’s so awesome!! And definitely super high on my list.

More good stuff right there! Hard to argue with those and, again, those designs were nothing to shake a stick at either. Bellemere is one of my favorites.

That being said, Komurasaki kind of has a special place in my heart. I know she’s really the Kozuki girl and all that but the character design and the way she antagonized Orochi still makes me all a flutter.

Marco Polo Boa Hancock is actually a good example of trauma bonding and unhealthy relationship patterns. The lengths to which she’s willing to go to support her feelings for the first kindness and decency she’s received from a male is unhealthy in the extreme. The fact that she’s incapable of distinguishing healthy interactions and subsumed her normal protective instincts and behaviors so entirely in such an utter about face when dealt the simplest of basic human kindness shows how utterly broken she was and easy to manipulate. The idea that strong women love by moving heaven and earth, bending over backwards to do anything for their partners is actually a bit toxic—especially in this circumstance where there’s an unrequited love by an abuse survivor.

I’m not refuting anything that you’ve brought up. I just thought that I’d make a few points that came to mind on the topic. ^_^

This is more a ding on Oda, but man...reading your post just highlights the lack of creativity to have character development for females. Just like attractive females all pretty much looking the same, Oda's been using the same plot aspects over and over. Can we get a legit female powerhouse that's not an eccentric/wacky design?

Hmmm, I think for me it would either have to be Hancock as Marco mentioned, I honestly liked her for exactly those same reasons, and she do be a girl crush. As for 2 others that I can definitely appreciate there are Bellemere and Dadan. Both amazing mother figures, Dadan's whole personality is a big yes, I love her for that, and her reaction back with garp... aaaaa :sweating: :sweating: :sweating: im trynna not tear up

Boa hancock is certainly also one of the best females in one piece who has coverage over multiple arcs and still has her importance in the current arcs.

Another one, and somebody whom I favor more, is Vivi. Not only her appearance but also her attitude, her importance and her mark on the story is top notch. Reverie is going to be lit :portugasedace:

In terms of arc appearance I would favor Reiju ofcourse. :hawt: :hawt:

Yeah my point was that she’s fine as a character so long as she’s examined in light of those aspects and taken seriously as such. There’s nothing wrong with highlighting these issues. They’re real, they happen and they need to be addressed because it’s life in the world that we face. In fact, the inability to draw/write a female who doesn’t have some sort of issues is further proof of what sort of world we live in. All his male characters are flawed as well, let’s not forget. It’s the very human nature of the people in One Piece that make them so relatable.

Monster Trio Dadan gets slept on for real but she was great.

Oh, for sure. I definitely 100% agree with all of this. Thankfully, Oda has been able to improve on his weaknesses and doesn't settle for an already amazing level of work. I do like his balance of utilizing the increased leeway the WSJ execs are giving across their entire magazine (it was a sudden introduction with a whole bunch of new series).
