This was a great cover art! There is no way Senku can do much exercise, so him struggling to keep up matches the theme of this "ultramarathon". I think this is the term for the crazy long races being referenced by the title.

Kaseki and Chrome enjoying the new possibilities of science is something I hope doesn't end throughout the series. Bochi is using a more "classic" style of art and I'm not sure if this is something that will continue for "gag" scenes.

But we haven't really had Kohaku shine for a while, so it's great to see her still be able to out do everyone else in the combat team in terms of precision/fine motor skills.

Hmmm...I guess the winning over of Xeno will have to be during the climax. I think I'm liking the 50-50 flip flopping between the cocky bastard and the human-Xeno. Since he is going to be an ally, the manga team has to make him likable by the majority of readers. Humanizing him through moments like this chapter and the last chapter are necessary for the conversion to feel legitimate compared to his willingness to kill Senku without a second of hesitation.

I guess using the plane would have killed the plot, so Stan had to go after the potential short cut since they don't have to stop for fuel. But, the environmental changes might be a huge plot aspect. I wonder if this is scientifically accurate per projections on current global warming projections. Kurare has been spot on for everything, so I'm assuming so.

I wonder if people will see it, but freakin Hyouga is an over qualified screwdriver!!! This is hilarious, but sooooooooo true!

Chelsea is already in love with the group, so her skillset probably becomes essential because potentially the entire world is completely different with the climate changes.

I think this is a perfect pacing because we've already seen the other parts made if I'm not mistaken. Kaseki already made the majority of the framework from the middle of the journey. So the teamwork is to start putting each bike together, I assume start making their "gas", and also planning out the initial part of the route.

But that smug look on Senku's face to end the chapter just says it all!

And the chase begins!

Stanley and co. are VERY efficient in closing Team Senku down - and once they do I think it's going to be an uphill struggle to avoid him. The real question surrounds how they're going to cross the desert - I don't know if they have the same capacity to make land transport? Or maybe they have another plan entirely?

Excited to see where this goes!

I forget his name, but the engineer is back in America per my memory. I guess we'll see if any of the special forces members are also capable of building things to the same level but the best part is that this implies Senku has bought all the time needed to now worry until the climax of the arc. Hopefully not (on the engineer being on the ship) since their training will allow for accurate tracking of Senku and they have the physical capabilities to do it by foot.

And they still have the plane too...this can already go in so many directions because they might split up and have a pincer attack (the aircraft carrier being in communication on the direction Senku is heading as it goes around South America).

They’ve got motorcycles now!! Watching them make the rubber was so much fun. And of course you could trust Xenos with the science even if you couldn’t trust him much further than that. He truly does enjoy it so much and wouldn’t defile it—much. He wants to be as scientific as possible and honor that. This is getting so good. I’m gonna be bummed when I catch up and have to wait a week in between.

Yup, only if it's for a weapon.

I had this discussion with Lucy (angellucy) that Dr. Stone is literally about to hit the peak level of fun discussions. We are going to hit the most open-ended part of the series once the world population starts to expand and the directions the manga team can go are infinite. This is the perfect time to be catching up because the fast pace means we move past this "pure fun" stage quickly too...
