Congrats, seiryu
Thanks!

Since people are enjoying the stories, I'll post the story about how I found One Piece...getting closer to 15 years ago now. So I'm super lucky that my Japanese teacher started a manga library. It was an advanced Japanese class, so all of us had attended Japanese schools as children or were children of Japanese nationalists. Since we were all pretty lazy, I have to think the raw volumes were to get us to do fun studying. It worked because sensei and the students all contributed so we had hundreds of volumes for probably 30-40 serializations.

The majority of my classmates couldn't stop talking about one series, so the redundancy finally got me to borrow the first volume of One Piece. I was hooked and quickly read through the available volumes. This is totally an old man "get off my lawn" moment, but One Piece (and even the more popular series like Bleach and Naruto) content was hard to find. It was common for scanlations to take a week to come out after the raw came out. There were even episodes (canon Water 7 episodes) that never got released until almost a year later. So the almost immediate access for anime episodes and manga chapters is a huge blessing compared to not having it at all.

Back to the blind Oda faith (until the next B.S. of course).

For dub viewers this is still a huge issue. They’re ages behind. Like are they even to Dressrosa yet?

Dubs are astronomically more work since the good ones redraw the mouths to match the speech. At least I have to assume the dubs aren't disorganized and jumping around like the fansubs. Either way, niche/unpopular work creates these sorts of predicaments.

I know, nothing I can do about it, all that can be done is editing the post and saving it  is a bug that happened when I have improved the mentioning system, and there's no way to bulk edit every post that has an old mention in it 🤦‍♂️
