Aight so this is a trip from 7th of March 2021. Basically last weekend before we got another lockdown so i tried to make the best of the situation.
Destination Viševnik (2050m), in Julian Alps.
Winter hike with crampons and ice axe.

First was an hour long drive from Capital city (Ljubljana), to Pokljuka (1200m). Pokljuka is known by its main sport activity: cross country skiing. Its also one of 5 main starting points if you wish to climb our highest mountain, Mt. Triglav (2864m).

Although the winter was already over in the valleys Pokljuka still had roughly 1m of snow cover

End of the road. Near military barracks. Due to Germanic looks, I saw a lot of people thinking I was in Austria or Germany
Image

2h long hike ahead
Steep terrain with dense snow and ice was hard to walk on so crampons or skies with hide were a must.

And towards Karavanke & Kamniško-Savinjske Alps

After a good month and a half tomorrow lockdown is over again and i'm going on a 8h long hike... hope i make it

Wow those photos are so pretty! I'm happy you got to see some nice views before going into another lockdown.

And I hope you'll have fun on your trip tomorrow!

2 days after my birthday, on April 24th me and my dad went on a slightly longer hike

Our destination this time was Kamnik saddle lodge (1864m). With our start at 601m in Kamniška bistrica we had a long one this time.

At 8am we were roughly in Kamniška bistrica with sun shining, clouds nowhere to be found and our will go go on.
Image

Valley opened up with mighty Mt. Grintavec (highest mountain in Kamniško-Savin alps)

Image

Winter did its tool on roads... So we left our car in the valley and decided to have 1h more walk :P

Image

thus our 1st hour was walking on car road since going through the forest was out of the question due to forest damage (winter avalanches)
Image

But we saw a whole hill of wild garlic
Image

Last view before real hike started....mighty Mt. Grintavec (Left) and Skuta (Right)
Image

And if we turned to our left we saw backside of Krvavec (Left), popular Slovenian ski destination with Kalški Greben (mid-right)

Image

At this point we went into the woods and we had lovely trail for about 1-2 hours :P... THE AMOUNT of forest mice that we 've seen that day was abnormal... micegeddon...

Image

finally we made it to Pastirji - ''Sheppards'' on 1405m where we noticed crampons are a must (pic borrowed hribi.net)
Image

Now hike in summer is nothing special here... Zig-zag route but its quite steep... (pic borrowed hribi.net)
Image

But in winter route is direct and knees feel every step... it was hard and it felt long AF
Image

Finally at hut
Image

On the left of hut is Brana - one of my goals this summer with its peak of 2253m
Image

and Planjava, right of the hut with its 2394m (secured route for more experienced hikers)

Image

At this point I would take photos of Logarska valley, which is seen over this mountains BUT i kinda made a bad step and i stepped on a rock over the snow with my crampons and i slightly twisted my ankle so i ate my lunch as fast as I could and rushed back to the valley since my legs were still warmed and ready to move... I swear it, if i made an 30min-1h long stop helicopter 'd be called couse i wouldnt be able to move.
Scans at ER showed minor sprain and well it is what is it :P I made it back safely at least :P But since i'm returning in summer i'll make better and more photos then :P
