Hahahaha...sorry. I guess since I've lived through the week to week discussions, people back at K-F HATED the animations always reverting back to the Mugiwara members running against a different background.

I can 100% agree that the music has a completely different "feel". They always had highly skilled/talented musicians and most didn't seem to be big names. People naturally have different musical preferences, but there is a "warmth" to the music because getting a huge gig as a relatively small musician made people want to do their best.

I don't want to clash with peeps, but this opening musically feels like a huge downgrade compared to Over The Top for me. That one was on par with We Go and We Are for me, but then again, I like that style wayyyy more than poppy openings. So it's definitely a preference thing ^^

Yea, the animation has a completely different style. If you mute/take out the music, what's your thoughts on just the animation? I say this because musical preference can be so different from person to person.

I'm biased that I don't like the majority of opening songs for 5 or more years, but I do think they have made astronomical leaps in making the animation better and better.

So I do rate Over the Top as an opening song because it does have “iconic anime opening” vibes to it, but it’s not one I could see myself listening to outside of the context of One Piece. Whereas I have definitely bopped to Dreamin’ On in the shower a few times...

So... is it just me or is this opening‘s visuals changing with each episode? Or.... am I just noticing new stuff every time? Because I feel like it’s kind of like Sanji’s cloak in Hope where there’s a part where there’s scenes from that particular episode that get played before it starts. I kind of want to rewatch a few different episode openings in a row now just to check...

It's the same thing as in Over The Top as well yes, the scene after the water splashes showcases whatever happened in the previous episode. I thought this was fairly obvious as they're almost totally new visuals each time, honestly not necessary but I'm not complaining cos a 2min opening is just fine compared to the 2min30 openings we used to have before this lmao

ANYWAY
My thoughts, I love the song and the visuals wayyyy too much. Visuals really make it for me to be fair, but the song was an instant banger for me as well. They make me hype to really catch up to the current anime cos my GOD this looks way too good. It's not a top 5 I think.. I'd have to make fair rankings which I do not really have .. Anyways, props to toei, they really did an amazing job with this one! I wasnt the biggest fan of over the top despite loving the visuals. As a manga reader I don't really feel spoiled either though I guess anime only's might've been annoyed by it.

It also shows what’s to come, as far as I can tell. And I don’t really pay much attention to the openings once I’ve seen them once, as you can tell. I’m usually multitasking them with reading the forum, to be honest.

Yeah I’m watching the current episode. It shows scenes from the current episode is what it shows. Not the previous episode. Unless those are scenes from the preview. Either way, it’s spoilers/teasers for sure. Must be a pain to change it every episode.
