Badass, sarcastic, short little spitfire of an animating (zombie raising), crime fighting protagonist, Anita Blake lives in St. Louis in modern day US shortly after vampires are deemed legal citizens. It follows her cases with the preternatural crime task force as well as her love life. This series melds fantasy and reality in a way that is refreshing and created an entirely new genre. Sign up for the crime and stick around for the character development. Watch a midwestern girl evolve and overcome her issues and predispositions based on how she was raised when it comes to religion, sexuality speciesism, racism and even her own self-worth all while solving crime and kicking ass etc. There’s comedy, thrills, sex and intrigue all wrapped up with mythological creatures galore. I could go on but spoilers.
I don’t believe in real sports. They aren’t worth supporting in terms of what’s really important in society professionally. Especially in the US, it’s mostly just modern day Mandingo fighting with the owners getting rich off of the players and keeping the masses occupied and entertained and distracted from real issues instead of putting that money towards real societal needs. When I was younger, I was a huge sports fan but then I decided to behave to match my beliefs.
Haikyū. Second favorite is Daiya no Ace though I’m really enjoying Ahiru no Sora right now.
