Hello, users! It is my pleasure to announce VCC's first Anime Review Contest! This is a VCC first, so allow me to elaborate a bit on how it works. :
What is the VCC Official Anime Review Contest?
In the VCC Official Anime Review Contest you submit your review for an anime you have watched. Your submission will be public for all to see, and goes in the Anime/Manga Reviews section just like it normally would. However, for this contest we will only be looking for high effort posts. If your review is only a couple of sentences, it will not be counted. Please do be sure to go over different parts of the show you watched, and employ critical thinking in analysing them. The review does not have to be for an anime you particularly liked, but do try to keep your criticism civilized. Nobody wants to read a thread full of angry ranting, right?
How do I participate?
All you have to do is tag your post for it to be part of the contest by adding a tag to the title, in front of the name of the thread.
You just sit and wait for the contest to end on 6th of September. I'll be ending it midnight GMT+3. After that a voting thread shall be created for one week, and all the users can vote on which review they think is the best. The winners will then be awarded their prizes!
But why should I bother?
Because there's VCCash on the line, of course! The winner of the grand prize will receive 300 VCCash, the second place will receive 200, and the third place will receive 100! It's a pretty good deal, yes? The prizes are a bit higher than normal, too, aren't they? Did you know you can use VCCash in our store to obtain cool user name effects and anime character themed banners? You love anime, right? Don't you want to show off a sick animated banner of your favourite character on every post you make? That's what I thought.
Did you just shamelessly steal this formatting from Jacky's PAW thread?
Yes, I did.
And lastly, a couple of ground rules:
Your submission should go over different areas of the show such as the animation quality, music, voice acting, plot, or perhaps if it's an adaptation of a different medium (VN, manga, LN) you can discuss how well it adapts the original medium into anime form, if you're familiar with it.
If there are major spoilers in your review, use spoiler tags. Not everyone has necessarily seen the series you've chosen, so be considerate of your fellow users.
There is no exact length requirement in place. You do not have to unnecessarily fill up your review if you think you went over everything of note, but 1000 words or so is a fine goal to aim for. The final vote is up to the other members of the forum, not me.
The anime you've chosen must be completed. No airing shows can be chosen.
If you're not sure where to start, Marco Polo 's review of Haikyuu!! is an excellent example of what we're looking for here.
The most important rule is to have fun! That's not optional. This is a good opportunity for everyone to discuss what we all love: anime. What's good and bad about the series we love, and why they capture our hearts the way they do. Please don't forget to have a good time.
