Doesn't this mean it is related to Yamato after all? Not necessarily about marriage, anything could be related to his heir. But what does Yamato have to do with the new Onigashima project though? I'm confused.
I think this partially came up in the manga chapter discussion, but my bias is that the vast majority of the crew doesn't know Yamato is a female. This is the reason why she wants to be in a private place to talk to Luffy. I am biased by this theory, because Yamato might have agreed to help out in the war since it lets her travel outside of Wano Kuni.
So an expansion of this theory to fit Yamato is that she is only agreeing to the announcement and is going to participate because she wants to open Wano Kuni, wants to follow in Oden's footsteps, and wants to see the rest of the world. I think the announcement is primarily the war against Shanks (I guess Blackbeard is an option, but especially with Marco's theory, this is much less likely). Yamato being an additional commander/exec is a big announcement too because "he" was always against helping the crew. Yamato being their is going to hype everyone up more because it is a complete flip of what "he" was always doing. The underlings are not surprised at Yamato's strength, so they've seen him fight before. It is also why they are all fully respectful despite Yamato doing the exact opposite of what the crew is aiming for. >
Oda very rarely does things like this; creating something just for the sake of that moment alone, that doesn't play any role in the story. It's something that any author should never do tbh. In fact I couldn't remember any blunder like this by Oda (remind me if there's any) So I'm a bit baffled if it really doesn't have any significance. As of now it does look that way, I can't really think of anything important to connect to the memory loss. If it does connect to something I'm going to bow down to Oda.
The amnesia is the first of it's kind, and hopefully the last. The very first instance of B.S. was Frog-Carrot. Of course Oda had really minor stuff here and there, but it was never a blatant/purposeful deviation. Even though it was minor even within the plot of WCI, it is the first instance of Oda not having a fully rational explanation for why the events occurred. The anime cleaned it up, but like you mentioned, the real test is something like the amnesia where is has direct effects to the entire plot.
I'll be amazed too, but just this discussion alone shows how a legit mistake can have huge positive effects. I'd be willing to bet Big Mom showing up in Wano Kuni is a last minute addition too (and the amnesia was his only way to negate Luffy not immediately getting defeated again). This chain reaction is now allowing for super-wars. It takes a lot more work to make it 100% connected, but it's definitely possible. I'm personally hoping the amnesia is completely done. It is physiologically accurate for Big Mom to still have small "flare-ups" of symptoms, but she should be back to 100% soon (and never have symptoms again). If he keeps using it as a cop-out to get Luffy out of a pinch, then that's poor writing on his part, which does not seem to be the case right now so hoping for the best.
Even all the changes with WCI are potentially turning for the better. Lola might not have had a chance to meet with Pound and or Chiffon (both were going to leave/get kicked out of WCI probably). Same thing for the "main plot point" of WCI: where the defeat was supposed to force Luffy to take Kaidou seriously. Since he "won" in WCI, the defeat in this act of Wano Kuni is going to create a bigger stage since the comeback is now against two Yonkou.
Even the change to the order of Enies Lobby is probably another good example of how the 5 year plan can change for the better. It's going to take a lot more work to make up for the last minute planning though. >
Yes a youtuber. I haven't really watched the video myself, it was mentioned to me that he made a theory about Kaido and BM setting out to sea together and also challenging the WG. In his recent chapter review video, he also said something about Kaido-BM wanting to turn Onigashima into a moving island and raid Mary Geoise haha(honestly I'm not sure if he's being serious or not XD)
Hahaha...oh man...If they had Vegapunk, then yes that might be possible. AH!!! That giant sword could be used by the giant island mecha! In terms of what's necessary to get views and likes, he's probably being serious and part of the "job" is to be able to act like you fully believe it even if you rationally understand it is impossible to do per the plot and context. So yea, based on this summary, I'd fully agree with the major points. I'm not going to be flashy and put in stuff I know is impossible to occur just for likes.
Attacking the Government is flashier than anything else since that it jumping to the conclusion of the series. The theorists/youtubers are going to have a harder and harder time since the puzzle is only going to be closer and closer to 100% complete. Biggest thing is hopefully Oda is done experimenting with stuff that doesn't connect to what he's already established and thankfully even the announcement itself will reflect how much "new planning" has gone on the past few months (essentially since Big Mom's introduction => I'm sure the editors got overridden on Big Mom being introduced => they finally got Oda to realize how impossible it is for Luffy to stay hidden from two Yonkou => the team worked together and now may have a legit super-war/super-wars, which is best for us). Of course some details will have to get ironed out, but that is the week to week grind of Oda/the editors. And Oda has always been willing to listen to his editors, since they have made many key changes over the entire series (Shanks losing his arm).
