Wowo these concepts are so interesting to see! and Chopper!! He kinda reminds me of something but I can't remember But I really actually like this design!
It's fun to imagine what kind of character he could've been. I kinda wish Oda would make a little short manga with his initial concepts of the characters. I'm so curious on how different the characters would be and interact XD
The country-bumpkin stereotype comes with dumb humor. I think we get enough of that with Luffy/Usopp, so Chopper being the one leading all of this seems like a change for the better. But, this would be a great spin-off!
We see a potentially super early version of the characters with the colored drawings. I wonder how far back these go? I know Nami at one point was supposed to be part of Shanks' crew (there's a color spread of this out someplace). So this is why we have so many versions of Romance Dawn, since Oda was just experimenting with how to start the series. >
Hehe and seeing Nami with her mechanical arm reminds me of Paninya from FMA(especially since they both have the same VA) Lolol imagine her punching Luffy with that arm
Yes! I am all for this physically strong and likely blatantly dominant Nami! But looking at it closer, it looks like the mechanical arm just goes over her human left arm. Either way, she'd still be physically strong with that mecha arm. >
Aww that's too bad for Oda but I think the name Sanji sounds much cooler at least and is very unique as well. I'm honestly glad that it got changed.
I definitely agree that is turned out for the better! I'm brain farting on what it was, but the order of the arcs or something about the post-Enies Lobby arc was completely changed too. Whatever it was didn't fit as well as how it ended up. Sometimes, things can just get lucky and turn out for the better. Shanks losing his arm or Zeff losing the leg underwater are probably other great early examples.
