I am in love with the opening song! I think it's perfect for a manwha adaptation. : As for the anime itself, the first 3 episodes felt rushed to me. There are some little details (about how the tower works and the other irregulars) that were left out so I guess they will be mentioned later on. I am looking forward to more episodes with better pacing like the latest one (4th). It seems like having another season is very possible given how popular it is now. I didn't think shinsu is water ??

The opening song has me jamming I can't lie pahaha! But yeah loving this anime thanks to it I am currently reading the manhwa and loving it :) I am so glad they kept the style and didn't make it look like a traditional anime!

Damn, I missed my chance to post the anime thread as well. I'm happy that Tower of God got the adaption I've been waiting for since a few years already. So far I really enjoy the anime, it's nicely adapted and I hope it stays like this. The only thing I have to nag about is the music. Some of it is nice but there's some music that doesn't really fit the manhwa imo. The opening and ending songs were also nice...until they started rapping and ruined them :

I think that they made it clear that shinsu is whatever it needs to be/whatever form it takes depends on the user. The “sky” was made of shinsu remember. The water look was just to represent the raw material. Like how else to convey it properly and in an effective manner? It didn’t look so much like water to me. They didn’t get wet after all.

They didn't get wet indeed. And true, it can take on any form depending on the user. I just thought it was misleading to anime-only people for Lero-ro to refer to it as water that's responsible for the tower's power and also the reason they can breathe (Episode 2). It could be a translation error on the subbers since the source material says shinsu can also provide water xD It just looked weird to me because I don't remember it being blue in the manwha. I thought more of it as a force and was surprised to see it in water form. (EDIT: Nvm. It was actually blue. My memory betrayed me since it's been a long time since I read that part : )

Here we go... it’s getting good now. Khun has all the tricks it seems! But nothing can compare to Bam’s feelings for Rachel. What is she doing there?! And who’s that redhead in the tights? Bam became shinsu? That’s wicked cool.

Watched episode 5 tonight! I really enjoyed the episode. Khun really showing how smart he is while Rak is just being his usual self wanting to fight xD I think the fighting was well animated, especially with the redhead (not gonna say her name here). And that sure was a massive wave of shinsu that Bam let out there. Also why does every episode have to end with Rachel? : I also realized that they call Bam Yoru in the anime which I find annoying. I know his name translates to "night" but there's no need to translate a name : Now that I noticed that it's kind of bothering me.

Didn’t she say that they could kill Bam like wasn’t he included in everyone? Why did she ignore him calling out to her? Is she scared of seeing him? You’re right that translating the name is annoying but they needed the context; I’m guessing? It’s really important that they get the meanings inherent in names and not knowing “Bam” would take it away, so they translated it for their audience. The same reason you got the footnotes in the first place in the WEBTOON. Oh my, with them not winning, did they lose the a Black April still? Princess Yuri is hilarious, I do hope she catches up with them. I want to see her and Anak interact lol

Latest episode is out So Rachel decides to stay away from Bam and then proceeds to have nightmares about him being with everyone else and leaving her behind? Wasn’t she chasing the stars, which led her to Bam who left her feeling all alone? So as a result of her insecurities, she’s choosing not to be together? Am I doing the dream interpretation right? And her BS is kindling Khun’s protective instincts? Holy wow on the Jahad Princess sagas—that’s good stuff. No Yuri showing up but Endorsi and Anak are doing quite well on their own keeping things lively.@sweetjacky see? We get the night references that make more sense now. That dream/flashback thing of Rachel’s wouldn’t be as meaningful if Bam’s name weren’t as it is, methinks.The whole night sky and seeking the stars leading into her chasing the “night/star” and it morphing into Bam.But maybe that’s just me :

I've been hesitating to watch this cos I know it can never be better than the webtoon lol. Will probably check it out once all 13 episodes are out. Ikr, it totally ruins it XD but well, since Japanese can't pronounce 'Bam' (because then it will turn into 'Bamu' instead) so they had to change it I guess. Bam is the only korean name in ToG if I'm not mistaken.

So as I said, my memory is messing with me but even without it, the hints from the LeRo (sp?) and the cues being left in the episode had me thinking the whole time that Khun was going to try to make them fail so Bam could pass. The princess’ actions at the end are a bit disconcerting though. Guess it remains to be seen what she’s really up to...

So Endorsi’s backstory sucks. Do none of the Princesses of Jahad have a good story to tell? Is Yuri’s story jacked up as well? At least she was doing things for a good reason but the road to hell is paved with good intentions and all that. Hoh got tricked royally. I’m guessing by Khun which makes his death on his hands. As for Rachel, what’s the link between her and the spear bearer who disappeared from next to Rak? Because that’s pretty creepy and mysterious, if you ask me. I like Bam’s hella fast development even if the ranker is not amused. I mean don’t taunt him if you’re gonna be butt hurt when he actually pulls it off. So who was messing with the video feed? So many little details that were wonky. I’m definitely going to have to read this all again and find out but not right now lol. I’m sure it’ll reveal enough for the story as it progresses. I really like the ending theme (opening too but that’s been mentioned already).

So I just watched episode 6-9 and I feel like they could have done way much better with the anime. I mean I still enjoy it but the pacing is annoying me so much. It's incredibly fast pacing and they're leaving stuff out. I even checked the manhwa and 9 episodes of the anime contain 51 chapters, that's ridiculous! Almost 6 chapters per episode is a lot. I'm guessing the whole part 1 is gonna be in the first season. Sorry for the rant but I really wanted to let my frustration for that out. I was looking forward to this so much so I'm disappointed now >.>

Why is it that no one listened to Rak about the guy who disappeared? Furthermore, Khun is the most caring version of Machiavelli ever and I love it. Rachel though... I mean, Endorsi clearly still doesn’t trust her and she was with her since the earlier tests. Having her at the funeral—which was such a touching thing to do. He’s so pure. My heart. I mean, she’s consumed by envy AND jealousy. It’s written all over her face. They showed up to the party and everyone else was adorably tipsy but she just looked pained to see Bam taken away even after his speech to her. Coffee guy is treacherous AF and besides shrinking Rak (he’s adorable as a chibi), he is really doing his utmost to sabotage everyone. I guess power does corrupt and people try to hold onto it however they can. Yuri trying to get to Bam and willing to tear about her poor teammates in order to do so... she really likes him. The way Bam is willing to risk everything for Rachel and actually got the support of everyone? It reminds me of Luffy. That test, I can’t wait to see it!! This is the creature that “shackled” him for his contract, right? Hype!

That’s some test. I love that Bam has utter faith in his teammates. And everyone choosing to support Bam for the same reasons—to protect the light in him. It’s so precious. Khun figured out the anima thing so is he coming to save the princesses? Will Endorsi fight Anak? She wants to climb the tower together with her, right? I feel like Yuri is going to pop up at the worst/best possible moment somehow. Ugh. I wanna go reread it all because I don’t remember

Like I had a lot to say about the episode and it’s all overshadowed by—I hate Rachel. Bam had better survive this. Grrr. I’m so irked right now. All those struggles, all that effort. Everyone is trying so hard and putting so much faith in him, developing bonds with each other, etc. Then she just pushes him overboard after he saves her. So cruel.
