Will there be a second Timeskip?

I found this interesting theory online and wanted your opinions about it! Will there be another Timeskip? The way the story is moving right now we are already able to chain alot of the events that will follow together. First Wano with the Shogun Orochi, Big Mom and Kaido, then Shanks and finally a showdown with Blackbeard at Laugh Tale or something. Then of course there is the whole Revolutionary Army vs World Government affair going on. Gol D. Roger’s generation were all adults (Rayleigh, Whitebeard, Shiki, Monkey D. Garp, Sengoku, etc…). Luffy and his crew members are almost all 20ish. People of his generation are also fairly young, Coby said it’s his dream to become an Admiral and the Supernovas are in Luffy’s generation. Furthermore Luffy isn’t strong enough to take on a Yonko 1v1. The gap between Luffy and the Yonko (specifically Kaido) seems to be even larger than what we may have expected, especially after the expectations generated by Morgan’s flashy news article. Kaido defeated the “Fifth Emperor” with just a single blow.. how could Luffy defeat him? Since the gap in power between Luffy and Kaido is so incredibly huge it feels like Luffy needs another big training session of some sort, whether they manage to defeat Kaido or not. A second timeskip would of course have to make sense in the story as we percieve it, but also considering how little time has actually passed in the One Piece World since Luffy’s first departure. Because of this I personally think it would be quite silly if the crew was to be separated during a second timeskip and that they instead would be training together somehow. What do you guys think? Is there some point in the following arcs where we could see another timeskip happening? Is it really necessary for growth? --- Well I found it quite interesting, I personally think The worst generation will defeat Kaido together. After that when the journey goes on I think we will see a training time skip. just before the end battle with Blackbeard. Let me know what you guys think.

OK so I think the only chance we get a timeskip is if we get one between the conclusion of the final war and the epilogue. Everything implies the Straw Hats will reach Raftel in their "current" state, and this is supported by a lot of the stuff we saw in the Oden flashback (Roger being 20 years too early etc.) That, and I think Oda came out in an interview and said he wanted Luffy to still be young once when he reached Laugh Tale (seiryu can you fact check this?) It's implied Luffy's undergone quite a lot of growth through both the Katakuri fight and the training he did leading up to Onigashima, so I expect a less one-sided outcome next time. We'll see how much he's grown soon, though.

I think we'd have a training arc before another timeskip, if it turns out the Straw Hats aren't strong enough to make it to Laugh Tale and accomplish their dreams. But I don't think even that will happen. Wano, Elbaf and the last straws before reaching Laugh Tale will probably be enough for them to accomplish their goals and finish the story. So I don't think there will be another timeskip. I don't see the point in having one either, to be honest. It would kind of downplay the first one and it would have to be a shorter one than the first one, so why bother at all? That's my opinion about it, at least.

Crap...I'm not remembering this quote specifically, but it does ring a bell. Contextually in terms of broad Japanese based themes, new generations exceeding the previous generation is a very common theme (pretty much any series with combat power-ups has this theme). Per the main topic, a power-up is absolutely required. No timeskip is needed if Oda is going with his original plan: Luffy's awakening. Oda wrote himself into a corner because nothing else, other than haki mastery (which cannot be shown since Oda hasn't even shown a glimpse of it yet => Rayleigh removing Keimi's explosive collar was the potential, but even this is "basic". Even foresight kenbunshoku is implied to be a "basic" and common ability which is just one branch/option of advanced kenbunshoku => the consistency is the advanced/mastery). I guess I'm back to the theory-killer role, but the simple answer that connects all the breadcrumbs is what is most likely to occur. This is a great point though, since it only highlights the difference from Yonkou/admiral level and everyone else in the world...

Having too many timeskip in a story isn't a good thing, unless it's used for the ending. We've already had a 2-year timeskip and I'm sure Oda is aware of this too. This is why sometimes I think it'd make more sense for them to get stronger first before Wano (since originally that was the plan right?). But Oda did say he figured out a plausible way for Luffy to defeat Kaido so I guess we'll see.

Considering Oda's touching the time travel subject with Wano, it could be interesting to see the strawhats being thrown few years in the past as a method of getting rid of them, which will mean they inevitably grow older, train more AND be in the current timeline when finally reaching the one piece. Can't think of anything supporting that, but you made me think it's a possibility, even if quite a remote one

Indeed, but knowing how vast the devil fruit powers are, i wouldn't be surprised if one that travels to the past exist or one that travels to both.. Or maybe she just didn't know how to use her power throughly.. was her power even awakened? There are too many variables, of course, there's nothing backing that up lol

Thats some interesting stuff there. Why do you think it will happen like this? If I think about it... I don't think Jimbei will die. The fish already had a lot to endure in his life. I think maybe Luffy will die and Law is on the edge of death, and he will resurrect Luffy giving his own life with that special technique of his. This will give Luffy the push towards gear 5? Just a small thought.. About the timeskip, If one happens it will be before the end fight to prepare themselves.

Plus, the dead giveaway is Jinbei stating his willingness to do so. It is going to be towards the end, if not the final war. Ah speaking of which, it's probably an interview, but Luffy will not be older when the series ends by Oda's words. So a prolonged time skip is already negated fully by Oda.

And if you have read WCI, then you can see those 2 reasons, why will Jinbei die towards the end. But Raftel ISN'T just the end, it's just the beginning of the final arc with the 10-year-timeskip. And Blackbeard is another "KUMA" and the keyfigure of Luffy's bittersweet victory. Because Luffy will disband the crew forever. And if it turns out, Jinbei's going to be still alive and fine af, then the moral of the entire story would be DEAD. Which means, that there would be no TS, ain't nobody would have any development and improvement, so this forever disband would be and WILL BE good for the crew, because in CH.941's colospread Oda has foreshadowed that Luffy will disband the crew forever, as he has drawn them as hitchhikers.============= Auto Merged 6 minutes 14 seconds =============And this is why I'm telling you that because Luffy has to complete these ordeals. So he will master all of his 3 willpowers - The Color of Observation in WCI, The Color of Armament in Wano and eventually the Color Of The Conquerors Willpower in Elbaf. And I'm telling you that, Luffy in Wano will only be able to awaken his DF which will allow him to create weapons and other objects out of his rubber abilities, and bearing with the power of shape-shifting! Not to mention about that, the Malleabilities of Luffy will be just taking its baby steps so he will be barely able bo prove anything with it. It's more likely able to imagine him taking the Gear 4th: TANKMAN - Yokozuna edition (A huge ass Buddha form of G4) and also Snakeman against Kaidou to make him weakened, But those are not going to do any effect against him at all. So there's going to be Moria who will help him by his shadows to create a new G4 from, and that's also going to be the foreshadowing of Luffy's final gear form: GEAR 5TH - BOOGEYMAN.

Don't want to see time-skip tbh, but I can see someone dying very soon. Jinbie is good candidate. He is the only one in SH that fits the bill, I also would not mind Carrot joining SH in his place. I find her character interesting, there is something there to develop. While I do feel that we might not have a time-skip, there might be a pause somewhere. As it stands now Luffy and co have nothing over Kaido and his crew, even if you don't count Big Mom and approaching Navy. Marco can do only so much, and it would be very bizarre if he has to spend all his time saving SH all over the place in this important juncture. I'm not necessarily saying Luffy and co are weak, but they are far from over coming Yanko crew, especially crew as large as Kaido, Honestly there is lot to be desired here, but given the conditions Oda maneuvering this without TS to power SH up is what makes sense to me.

I find her character interesting, there is something there to develop. I guess my only gripe is that Carrot, even in Siu Long form, is weaker than Jinbei. She's definitely a nakama by the expanded definition Luffy uses. With the Yonkou wars, Jinbei can't be dying any time soon. He might be the second strongest Mugiwara right now. Based on the match-ups, he might be the most universally adaptable fighter since every person has water in their body to be manipulated by his Gyojin-Karate.

Luffy is the 5th Overlord to be honest. And yes, Oda will go with the Neural System! If Gear 2nd is already Cardiovascular system, Gear 3rd is the Musculoskeletal System, the Gear 4th is the Muscular System and the 5th is going to be the Neural System. Because when you get nervous, you are taking the breath 2x faster and your heart pumps your blood 2x faster, not to mention about that your entire body is shaking from the anger. And this is how Luffy will trigger Gear 5th as the final gear form. Because he will need 1000x more blood pump and 2x more air blow altogether. As you see him doing it against Kaidou in Gear 4th, just imagine him triggering the 5th one. And in Wano it's just the beginning to trigger his final gear form. Because he needs to get really angry for real. And there ars the other G4 forms too, and we didn't see him using Gear 4th TANKMAN (Not the full version) at all.
