The Strongest Man in the world vs the Strongest Uchiha
This is as needlessly gratifying as I remember, hope you enjoy
• Madara is as he was when he was Reanimated (Rinnegan/EMS/Prime age/Hashirama cells), but not a Reanimation (chakra isn't infinite and doesn't have Reanimation immortality)
• Whitebeard is in his prime (all we can assume about his 'prime' is that it's a stronger, faster, healthier form of him at Marineford)
Location: Marineford. They start at opposite sides of the bay right behind where the wall of turrets rose.
"It's been a while since I've encountered a normal-sized human who had your kind of strength."
"Oh? Big talk from someone so small..."
"Gurararara you've got guts, boy. To call someone so much larger than yourself 'small'."
"Guts? I just say what I see. Now move. I don't have time for chit-chat."
"Tch! Chit-chat? Don't insult me, lad, or it will be the last thing you do."
"For someone with no chakra, you're quite full of yourself. I don't really have the time, but perhaps it's best if I bring you to heel. It would stain my name if people went around believing they could belittle the divine Madara Uchiha with no consequence. Don't take it personally, but I must make an example."
"Gurararararararara, you make my blood boil, lad. You'd best not disappoint me."
"At least make it fun."
Whitebeard instantly thrusts his hands outwards, calling on the tsunamis to initiate the battle. The cracks in the air confuse Madara:
"Ninjutsu? But he has no chakra. How?"
"Scared already? Was that just empty talk before?"
"Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame!"
Ignoring the tsunamis that he could feel were a few minutes out, Madara opts to finish Whitebeard quickly with a huge area-of-effect fire attack, but an island-shaking retaliation makes the huge flame vanish into nothing as Whitebeard sends a quake in response. Madara's confusion escalates as he fails to fathom where Whitebeard's power comes from given his Sharingan tells him he has no chakra. Whitebeard meanwhile safely assumes his opponent has used a Fire Devil Fruit.
Seeking to probe Whitebeard to find out more, Madara activates his Rinnegan and tries a different angle:
"Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence!"
Whitebeard's Haki kicks in just in time, and he jumps upwards to avoid the huge tree branch that come out of the ground below him. But the rest of the forest is yet to form. Whitebeard reasons that the perpetually and volatilely forming forest would continue even if he attacked it, so he dances among the growing terrain until he finds an opening, all-the-while trying to categorise Madara's Devil Fruit power.
Madara, however, is not so simple to out-manouevre. Wood Style Clones appear out of the very branches and begin pestering him with a wide variety of attacks, ranging from Fire Balls to Water Dragons. Whitebeard easily deflects all of these with incredible quakes that shatter each branch in their direct path. Through the clones, Madara notes the incredible power of these quakes, and tries another technique. He thrusts the huge branch carrying Whitebeard and a number of others upwards at incredible speeds, creating a platform of wood at the lowest levels of the clouds. More Wood Clones appear from the branches around Whitebeard, but he's having none of it.
Hardly a grunt precedes him smashing his bisento to the ground and completely shattering the entire tower of wood that stood between himself and the ground. He quickly finds a huge chunk of wood to ride as he falls and reasons what to do. Most of the clones crumble in the ripple of the attack, but a couple survive. Madara is confident in his analysis of Whitebeard's power now, and realises that Whitebeard is not so puny as he first assumed, decided to hold off on his stronger plays to maintain the element of surprise.
Whitebeard, conversely, is infuriated by his opponent's bizarre array of abilities and his tactics which so far have prevented him from getting close to the Uchiha. The tsunamis he first summoned are moments upon him now, and he seeks to desperately find land above their height. Even the highest point of the Marine Headquarters is dozens of metres below the height of the first wave, so he quickly concludes that his only option are the trees of the Deep Forest Emergence which grew to incredible heights. He times it perfectly.
He aims for a lower hanging branch to break his fall, and, with his sheer Haki, slices through the branch like a blade through butter, before falling through several more to slow his descent - his Haki protecting him from the brunt of the damage. The tsunami has blocked out the Sun by this point and is seconds away, but Whitebeard deactivates Haki, crashes into one final branch, and leaps for the highest branch a hundred metres above him - a blur amidst the shadow of the wave.
The tsunami of course was no threat to Madara, who just extended his own wooden branch to carry him above the huge wave. Naturally it was no accident that one branch appeared to loom higher than all the others, attracting Whitebeard just as planned. As Whitebeard jumps above the water line, and the waves collide, Madara uses his jutsu to thrust that branch back into the ground, leaving Whitebeard helpless in mid-air. As soon as he realises what had happened, he sends a huge quake Madara's way, catching the Uchiha off-guard as his branch shatters and he flies into the turmoil below. The last thing Whitebeard sees before he goes under is Madara standing above the huge crashing tidal waves.
Madara is amazed that Whitebeard cannot stand on water, having never seen a competitor as powerful as he so incompetent at basic ninja skills. But there is no time to contemplate such things, as the waves begin crashing down back to their usual level, and he must extend yet another branch to stop himself falling back with the water. It is approximately ten seconds that Whitebeard is paralysed under water, and he fears the fight over and himself dead, but as he is thrown around helplessly by the moving waves, he focuses on nothing more than landing back on the surface of Marineford.
As the water recedes over the small island, a perfectly healthy Madara jumps back down to the bay of Marineford and sees a soaked, coughing, spluttering Whitebeard pathetically trying to stand and breathe before him.
"That was your own attack, you know. It doesn't do well to overestimate your ability."
Whitebeard has no words for him, and responds by jumping at superhuman speeds straight at the intolerable form of Madara, who responds by activating the Susano'o skeleton to anticipate Whitebeard's punch. The rage-fuelled quake-punch absolutely destroys the Susano'o, and Madara who was inside it instantly crumbles away to nothing but wood chips. Wait...
"That is some strength you have there. No one's ever wounded the Susano'o so completely before... not even Hashirama."
Madara rises from above the ground a dozen metres away, as though it was the most ordinary thing in the world.
"Just what is... your ability?!?!"
Whitebeard roars in frustration, and his Conqueror's Haki shatters the ground around him, generating violent gusts of wind which send leaves and debris flying around Madara. But the clan leader doesn't so much as bat an eye-lid.
"A strong bite and a strong bark. Very well, I suppose you are worthy of feeling the full wrath of the divine Madara Uchiha."
And with that, he activates his Perfect Susano'o form, flying through the sky towards the centre of the giant blue warrior's forehead, reaching it just as it finishes forming. A ball of quake power forms in the blade of Whitebeard's Bisento, and he strikes out with all his force, Madara draws his own giant blade and meets the blow. The true loser of this exchange is the island of Marineford. Quite simply, everything breaks. The island cleaves in two where the blades meet, and the rest of the island simply collapses - damage extending far down below the surface. All the branches of the Deep Forest are obliterated at their bases, creating an irksome rain of wood that bother neither as Whitebeard's Haki atomises the wood chips that come too close and the ones near Madara simply bounce off the Susano'o. The mass of debris that accumulate around the edges of the island prevent the ocean flooding the small basin of land that remained, but neither of the warriors care about such things.
It is Whitebeard who ends up recoiling from the exchange, and Madara seizes the opening launch another blow straight at him. Whitebeard is too quick, however, and counters with a quake-punch aimed at the incoming sword. The hand staggers, and Whitebeard strikes again with all his might, wounding the left leg of the Susano'o - wounding the Perfect Susano'o for the first time ever. Susano'o Wood Clones begin rising from the ground and attacking Whitebeard with their blades, pressuring him greatly.
Madara's Perfect Susano'o keeps manoeuvring between the attacks of his Wood Clones to force Whitebeard to block, and this frequently costs him a stab wound or a cut from one of the clones' Susano'os. Seeing he is getting nowhere, Madara creates another clone hovering next to him to rapidly bind Whitebeard in tree branches, which he continues to condense around Whitebeard and pressurise him until, theoretically, he is killed from the force. But he never does.
The wood branches create a huge twisted pattern around the Emperor, yet Madara never feels him break. He never learns this, but Whitebeard's full-body Haki coating prevented any amount of force the trees could provide from destroying him. Indifferent, Madara proceeds to burn the whole place to ashes, with all ten of his clones deactivating their Susano'os and using the incredibly powerful,
"Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame!"
The spiral wooden structure is disintegrated in seconds, destroying the clones who created the flames, and Madara deactivates his Perfect Susano'o. But he can't believe his eyes. Standing upright in the epicentre of the attacks, charred, severely burned, and bleeding in various places from stab wounds, is Whitebeard. His bisento had fallen out of his hand when he was first bound by the trees, and he picks it up, ignoring the burn the handle gave his hand, and pointing it challengingly at Madara.
"... *pant* These flames...*pant* are good for nothing....*pant* but a kid's birthday candles...*pant*."
"Such power! None has ever taken such damage and endured! Tell me your name, and I will ensure it is remembered far beyond your death..."
"Heh... *pant*... I am the strongest man in the world! *pant* Do not underestimate me, do not insult me! *pant* I am...WHITEBEARD!!"
And with that deafening roar, he charged at Madara with the last of his strength, ready to smash him into oblivion like the clone before. But Madara is done wasting time.
Whitebeard is briefly suspended in mid-air before being thrown backwards with incredible force, blood flying from his wounds as he hits the wall of debris which prevents the ocean coming in to what is left of their arena. He uses his bisento to help him rise yet again, and he prepares another attack.
Madara is ruthless now - his chakra is dangerously low. He launches the small black ball not upwards as is custom, but in Whitebeard's path. The ball intercepts his dash, colliding with his stomach before carrying him upwards. In no time masses of rock and water begin flying through the air towards him, and he releases his bisento to smash with both hands in all directions to destroy the incoming rocks. But he knows his strength is failing. His Haki kills the momentum of imminent rocks while he redirects his attacks to the figure of Madara himself. Madara is blown backwards by the barrage of force, but reinforces himself with a small Susano'o shell. In a last-ditch effort, Whitebeard attempts to use his Heaven and Earth Shaker to destroy the huge sphere forming around him, but Madara reacts just in time.
He uses his Rinnegan to hurl the sphere into the ocean, and with the last of his chakra re-enters Perfect Susano'o form and obliterates the entire thing just before it reaches the water. Whitebeard's body amazingly is still intact, but he has no time or strength to react to the ocean just metres below him. No Armament or Conqueror's Haki could save him from the paralysis.
No Haki could save him from drowning.
