Thank you guys for the messages - this wasn’t an easy decision to make but it’s the one that made the most sense. Echoing what Rio said, I’m very grateful to you guys for sticking around with this community after Owl left and giving us the chance to keep it alive, even if only for a little while longer.

Yuuzume I don't know how this will factor in to the continuation of Kingsguard but I'd say keeping up discord still counts towards all the people here remaining a "community" so hopefully this won't deter you from continuing to write more chapters. For what it's worth, I'd love to keep reading it.

It’s been a while but I am still actively writing it (albeit very slowly). Trying to work out the best way to get it to people now that we won’t have VCC to host it…

Obviously very sad to read this, but I also agree. I, personally, have been going through the busiest time in my life ever and it doesn't look like it will become more easygoing anytime soon. Sorry to all for the the unfinished work on my end (mostly anime threads that needed updating or glossaries that needed to be recreated from scratch after the transfer). Whenever I had a little bit of spare time, I just couldn't get myself to work on it in a meaningful way. It was an honor and a pleasure to do the things I have done as a mod, though. This community has always been a kind and safe one, and for that I am truly grateful. Thanks to the members for being amazing people here, thanks to the admins for setting the site up in the first place and thanks to all for the great memories! Secret Santa, Fan Clubs, Kingsguard and the One Piece theories will remain some of my favorites. <3 I'll try to be more active in the discord, but of course I will never forget you all anyways. Sharing the love for One Piece was what got us here and is probably what will keep us together. Maybe some of us could join another existing One Piece forum (if there is one)? If not, discord will do. Once again thank you all for an amazing time, and for this online space in which we could express a shared passion <333

It's been years since I joined OPF then came to join VCC as well. Definitely sad to hear this place won't be here anymore, I've met a lot of amazing people and fellow OP fans here. But I do understand real life can get hectic, in fact I 'm one of the people who couldn't really find much time to be here anymore these days because of work and other things. I'm totally grateful to the team; the admins and the mods, for making it possible to share our love for OP and other mangas/animes here. I'm relieved to hear the discord will still be there though, I still would love to talk to you guys. And just like Weebywitch, this place and this community means a lot to me as well, so thank you for everything guys!

It's really sad to see the forum go but everything has to come to an end at some point 💔 It's just too much work to maintenance a forum and unfortunately we all got too busy to get all the work done. Additionally to that it's hard to get people to sign up to forums nowadays and even if they do most of them don't stick around for long. We were hoping the migration would give us a new start but unfortunately it didn't go as well as planned.

That said, I want to thank everyone who joined our lovely community and made it fun to be here, especially the people who stuck around until the end ❤ I hope I'll see a lot of you around on discord because it would be such a shame to lose all contact and it is certainly a way to stay connected. I'm also planning to make some new channels there so we can still talk about a lot of topics like we did on the forum. I had so much fun here and met a lot of interesting people, I met the love of my life on opf, I also made some other forum people irl (in fact I'm gonna meet up with another one today). We also had some amazing events where I got to talk to some of you guys, even if I don't speak much 😂 It was definitely fun to be on the forum.

Even if we lose the forum, there's still a way to stay connected and that's what's important for such a lovely community, isn't it? 😭❤

I guess like anything in life, enjoying and being able to hold onto the good times is what's most important. Since I don't play games, I never saw the need for discord, but maybe it's worth a shot.

I hope the team is busy with fun work (vs. just being busy with work work and chaotic/bad personal stuff). Although there's a sadness, it does make me reflect on all the good times. Our community has always been a great part of whether it was OPF for VCC, so I hope the best for everyone!

I got to say something as well. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting me be a part of this forum. I enjoyed it a lot, I really did.

From @sweetjacky on the Discord together with @galkie kind off forcing me to come here. You didn’t know it, but it did rekindle and re-ignite my love for Anime. Since being a part of this forum I’ve been watching more and right now am following around 5 or 6 shows this Season. So, I’m very grateful for that.

Next to that I got to know you all better, from bitter discussions with @weebywitch in almost every show that we watched, from hating on the exact same things with @negatibuhige . Something I will never forget. You guys didn’t know me, but just accepted me the way I was, with long reviews, stupid lines of thinking and often times thinking too much about certain things haha!

I will definitely be on Discord. My account is on there and hoping to see many of you there to keep talking about One Piece and all the other glorious anime that is out there.

quite a shock really!!! I was just going to update (after a long time) at the Manga section about the continuation of Berserk manga (guess won't be updating it then 😟) and then I found this announcement!!! don't really know what to say, but will surely MISS this place and to ALL the Nakama's here 😘

I rarely join forums, but got stumble upon on OPF in the past (I was probably bored of waiting for manga updates on my list, especially with One Piece updates) everyone would agree with me (especially the old members) OPF was the Golden Age in that time (probably because there we're many active members and many activities happening) and then VCC came, some of the old members still stayed and with the addition of the new members, it was ALL FUN and HAPPY (I got to unwind myself with the stress at the real world, talk/debate about ONE PIECE and other stuff with the same interest) you can say it was the "GOOD ALL DAYS" 😄

and then Corona came (SUCKS!!!!!!!! 😡😡😡) transition to VCC 2.0 (WE ALL KNOW AND CAN FEEL THE DECLINE) but hey WE ALL DID OUR BEST! 🤗 especially THE TEAM (Admins and Mods) 👏👏👏 AMAZING WORK TEAM (It was worthwhile 👍) and to the Nakama's LOVE YOU ALL (It was a pleasure having FUN with you ALL) 😘😘😘

It's good to see some people joining Discord (we can have a new name for the server and everything because we don't have to have the VCC branding).

For the KG readers - I'm going to make a Kingsguard channel and post all the chapters in as PDFs in one thread, and then have a chat section to talk about chapters. I am still actively writing so will continue to release chapters sporadically.

I will probably leave all the social media accounts up as a memory but they won't be active - I might make a Twitter page of my own (if I can manage to put up with anime Twitter for longer than 5 minutes, lol)

I know my activity has nosedived in recent years, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you to the amazing people who have kept this place alive. Success is not measured on longevity, but on the quality of the time spent on the forum, and the discussions, games and of course friendships have been some of the highlights of my life. From Forumpiece, to OPF, to Void Century, this community is a treasure to me and I will always deeply appreciate the contribution that you guys have had on my life.

I also have to shout out @Marco Polo , who is beyond talented as a leader, communicator, manager, and writer. I am lucky to have you as a friend, and our interactions (of all flavours - looking at you Exotic Professor) have given me some of the greatest laughs I can remember. Marco has been nothing short of a hero in taking on the responsibility of keeping this community alive and together, and has shown unparalleled dedication behind the scenes (and that's just the little that I know of). We've been so lucky to have you man. (Yeah feel free to chuck this on a CV or something 😉 )

You guys have been my family across the world, and I'm so lucky to have met people like you. Love you all, and I'm glad there are legends like you in all the corners of the globe.
