I wonder if Oda is trying to hide Zoro and Momo getting along in the color spread. All signs indicate they will be relatives in the epilogue aspects of the plot. The only other weird part for me is where Chopper fell from. Either he fell from the coconut tree, or he got thrown up into the air from Luffy doing a gomu gomu no rocket-o from the the hotdog grill.
Minor mistake, but there shouldn't be smoke with Jinbei doing what he did the last chapter. There might be some steam, but the constant wall of water would create a gap. Plus, the flashback of Oden's castle implies Onigashima is still on fire since the designs are for flames and match what's on Onigashima.
Man...I can't remember unnecessary filler/fluff in One Piece and the Momo pages are this. Literally every single point has already been previously mentioned directly. At worst, people complained about boring conversational pages/panels, but even Toki being proud of Momo halfheartedly wanting to take on responsibilities left upon Oden's death has already occurred.
I guess all of this is to tease us about the future upgrades Luffy will go through but Kaidou's comments are 100% true but just piss me off...Kaidou is the strongest in the world and will have potentially the weakest haki of all the current Yonkou. He used foresight kenbunshoku when it was completely useless, he has the most astronomical decrease to the haki reserves/amount of haki energy he displays (despite having the most stamina of anyone with an awakened legendary zoan). And biggest of all, if he has this much haoushoku haki energy left, he could just win with a single attack of haoushoku coating. Because Oda didn't plan this out (he already showed that Luffy is at his limits of stamina), Kaidou has to be weakened to Luffy's level. And this was already with the literal god-fruit that self-upgrades (independent of the user).
And Kaidou is suddenly not ruthless? He uses minimal haki to attack Luffy's arm? He doesn't just cut Luffy's arm off? Yonkou immediately kill others, but suddenly get soft against Luffy? The fluff of the climax fight only creates more contradictions.
And this makes me realize the biggest contradiction. Because Kaidou is proficient enough with a "blade", he has already shown to create projectile blade attacks at least once (I don't think it was against Luffy though). If Kaidou wanted to win, he just spams these against Luffy with foresight kenbunshoku. If Oda followed what was logical, Luffy while still fresh could have legitimately fatigued Kaidou having him spam haoushoku coating projectile attacks even with foresight kenbunshoku (Luffy's foresight offsets Kaidou's and Luffy is faster than Kaidou with his god mode). Considering the most legendary of the already legendary zoans/B.S. half zoan half paramecia (it's a paramecia with a zoan awakening transformation technically), Luffy taking the rational path to victory is minor compared to the existing cheat code already applied.
Hopefully the lanterns are a physical and or emotional bridge that allows Momo to activate his ability to generate additional flame clouds. At least that gives some meaning to the fluff.
Crap...I'm forgetting the names of Zoro's bounty hunter friends, but one of the new samurai looks quite similar.
Wait...how is the basement flooding but the main dome isn't? I haven't bothered to pay attention to the details of the displayed layout, but it skipped a level above? They showed the water filling all of the top floor, so everything looks like things are out of place.
REALLY? We can't have Orochi die? With the kairouseki nail out, it will be Luffy's attack that only KOs him.
Speaking of which...Oda's showing haoushoku black lightning...so unless Joy Boy took over partially/gave haoushoku energy/haki energy to Luffy, then Luffy just magically created greater haoushoku energy than he ever displayed before. I can understand the need to overkill for a legitimate win (which this definitely does), but whatever. It is what it is at this point and it definitely could have been even worse.
I guess this will explain Momo being able to save everyone since he only needs to create potentially 1/6th of the flame clouds Kaidou is creating subconsciously. Luffy can't pull back excessively so he has to follow through and destroy a chunk (and presumably the majority) of Onigashima.
