If you're talking about the cover story, it's almost 100% Reiju and Ichiji (you can see the cloaks/capes and her high heels vs. his shoes). Blackbeard pretty much is only doing things to become pirate king at this point, and his lazy nature is to steal it from Luffy or follow him to Laugh Tale.

I wonder if Katakuri is magically not anywhere within WCI to stop presumably Ichiji and Reiju from rescuing their brothers. The mayor or whoever was ranked below Pudding isn't scared for some reason. And I wonder why his explanation point looks like a door? He wasn't introduced as a Charlotte kid.

Hahaha...I guess Oda was in such a rush he didn't come up with a name for the attack...Definitely unlike Oda and Luffy. At least the SBS can have a legitimate question and let fans decide the official name.

Unless Kaidou never thought of mixing busoushoku and haoushoku, Luffy now has the strongest haki in the world (or Shanks, Blackbeard, the admirals, CP0, etc. never thought of mixing both until Luffy is using it, so now everyone will be stronger than Kaidou). This explains the previous chapter of Luffy being able to make Kaidou's defense lower by making him soft rubber even when he is defending.

I guess the minor updates on everyone's situation is necessary. But the ironic part is that everything in Onigashima doesn't have Wano Kuni standards of expert craftsmanship except the one wall trapping Apoo and the Number. Apoo has his fruit ability to create projectiles. I don't think he only created attacks directly on Kizaru, so I don't think his power is limited to creatures that have hearing.

The chapter title made me wonder what Raizou was capable of doing, and this is a pretty weak repeat of a chapter title (pretty sure we had a chapter dedicated to the introduction of Raizou). And this might be the first repeat of a chapter title too. Did Oda feel guilty for the comedic relief fight?

Other than Luffy being able to be strong enough to manipulate the weather (he is grabbing a lightning bolt to use as a sword or projectile), this feels like a freaking Bleach chapter where it takes 5 minutes to read and almost nothing happens in the plot.

It feels weird having Luffy the prohibitive favorite...and especially against the strongest being in the world. Any attack from Luffy in the giant form would have won the fight. And now that I actually have time to think about it, haoushoku coating is now a contradiction. Luffy is using haoushoku constantly to create this "white form". Which is 100% different from the base form of Nika form/the awakening. Haoushoku coating plus this white form makes Luffy able to beat anyone in the world.

Luffy without the awakening was matching the strongest being in the world (IN HIS BASE FORM). Kaidou with greater fatigue (and this part makes some sense where Kaidou is too tired to use haoushoku coating all the time => B.S. by my standards since legit Yonkou/admiral fighting is mastered haoushoku, kenbunshoku, and busoushoku throughout 7+ days of fighting) can't use it...but if Luffy is constantly using haoushoku (Kaidou confirmed it for us)...why not end the fight with that? Luffy is essentially twice as strong as Kaidou. If haoushoku coating has greater benefit with the stronger the user, then Luffy using this is dramatically stronger than Kaidou now.

And this is without the Yonkou levels of power and them being able to use parts of mother nature in their attacks. These contradictions are just what come to the top of my head too...I'd probably go crazy if I had the time and think of all the breadcrumbs being contradicted by the past year of B.S.

In that last chapter where Luffy gets defeated in G4, I thought it was pretty clear he didn’t have enough to defeat Kaido as he was (hence the need for G5). Being able to hold his own is different from being able to beat him

I dont necessarily think strength is as much of a factor in this as his natural resistance to lightning? Although Big Mom can also manipulate lightning so maybe it is. Idk

This is quite a big theory I’ve seen going around. Not sure if it is, but that would be a VERY big thing to throw in a cover story.

sweetjacky Zero hype for me tbh and the whole revelation about Luffy’s real powers just felt off to me. I kinda liked the fact that Luffy got so far with a regular paramecia fruit and was able to use it in so many ways but now it just turns out it's actually a mythical fruit. I'm just not sure what to think about that.

I remember reading the theories and thinking it’s possible but could also be a massive retcon (which it sort of is), BUT the Awakening itself works mostly like it would if it was still the Gomu Gomu fruit aside from the cool new hair, which is why I’m not too bothered about it.

I suspected it might be them but we saw them leaving with Judge, so I'm not entirely sure. I somehow think it's someone else. Blackbeard could be there to steal a copy of Linlin's Road Poneglyph and it would be easy without her being there.

Glad Oda took a moment to address the “Luffy = Nika” allegations… clear as day now that it’s him he’s not being possessed.

Kaido finally hitting his limit 50-odd chapters later… it’s about time. Luffy and co managed to wear him down after all!

It’s a shame the break is coming now (and I think there’s a break after 1047 too). We’re at the climax and I’m hooked 😭😭

I finally caught up to One Piece. A lot of great fights in Wano, like Robin vs Maria and Jinbei vs Who's Who. Can't really mention every single thing I liked because I read quite a lot. Only one thing that I don't like and I kinda hate that I don't like it because everyone else seems to love it 😩 So far I just can't get used to the Gear 5. Idk if it was because of all the spoilers I had and it didn't come as a surprise to me or if I genuinely just don't like it. I know it fits Luffy quite well but I just find it so catroonish and a bit too childish for my taste. Zero hype for me tbh and the whole revelation about Luffy’s real powers just felt off to me. I kinda liked the fact that Luffy got so far with a regular paramecia fruit and was able to use it in so many ways but now it just turns out it's actually a mythical fruit. I'm just not sure what to think about that. I guess I'll just have to live with not liking it unless it will convince me in the upcoming chapters 🤷‍♀️😮‍💨

Anyway what I really liked about this chapter was Raizou using his jutsu and then Jinbei helping him spread the water to put the fires out. I was actually thinking "can Zunisha not just put the fire out with water from its trunk?" and then it turned out that Raizou actually used Zunisha's water in a jutsu xD
