Synopsis:
For the agent known as "Twilight," no order is too tall if it is for the sake of peace. Operating as Westalis' master spy, Twilight works tirelessly to prevent extremists from sparking a war with neighboring country Ostania. For his latest mission, he must investigate Ostanian politician Donovan Desmond by infiltrating his son's school: the prestigious Eden Academy. Thus, the agent faces the most difficult task of his career: get married, have a child, and play family.

Twilight, or "Loid Forger," quickly adopts the unassuming orphan Anya to play the role of a six-year-old daughter and prospective Eden Academy student. For a wife, he comes across Yor Briar, an absent-minded office worker who needs a pretend partner of her own to impress her friends. However, Loid is not the only one with a hidden nature. Yor moonlights as the lethal assassin "Thorn Princess." For her, marrying Loid creates the perfect cover. Meanwhile, Anya is not the ordinary girl she appears to be; she is an esper, the product of secret experiments that allow her to read minds. Although she uncovers their true identities, Anya is thrilled that her new parents are cool secret agents! She would never tell them, of course. That would ruin the fun.

Under the guise of "The Forgers," the spy, the assassin, and the esper must act as a family while carrying out their own agendas. Although these liars and misfits are only playing parts, they soon find that family is about far more than blood relations.

This is probably together with Rising of a Shield Hero the most anticipated anime of this Spring. And I loved it from start to finish.

Seeing him from being a spy to also being a dad. It was comedic, but also hella cute to watch him with Anya. Even though Anya does have a special ability it doesn’t make her any less of a child. With how much she knows, she becomes even more of a kid. Sometimes Anime makes it so that kids act way older than they are, which happens with the girl from Eighty-Six as well in a way, but Anya just stays who she is, childish, unreasonable, explorative, everything that a kid should be.

There interaction is fun, the mission is dangerous, but I feel like watching more and more of them in the future. Glad to have started this and wonder how other people feel about it. There have been some dark moments, but they are overshadowed by the cuteness that the Forger family has.

That's one I definitely want to watch! I've heard a lot of good things about the manga and already considered reading it. But now that it got an anime it will make things much easier xD

Speaking of daddy, Tasogare is totally having the most challenging time of his life, handling a kid. I wonder when he'll notice Anya's uniqueness xD No safe is safe for his radio :v

I was really looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint. I enjoyed the first episode a lot, a good introduction to the anime. Anya is adorable and I just loved her reactions after reading Loid's mind xD But of course she had to get them into trouble after being overexcited by the spy stuff 🙈 Glad everything worked out fine in the end though and now the next hurdle is gonna be finding a waifu for Loid 🤭

Really enjoyed this episode. Loid found himself an interesting wife. Gotta say these other girls at the party were such bitches though 🤦‍♀️ The one who wanted to try burning Yor sure got what she deserved though 😌 Also once again I loved Anya's reactions in this episode, she was so excited when she found out that Yor is an assassin xD Looking forward to the interview with the school.

I had already seen it in the preview but Loid actually tried to dress up the informant to pass as the mom. iWheeze 😆😆

Anya was the perfect matchmaker ✨

Loid getting the extra mission was kinda fortunate, I guess. Fighting the pursuers together was the perf ice breaker for Loid and Yor xD
But I couldn't stop laughing when Loid proposed to Yor with A GRENADE PIN cos he lost the diamond ring. I just can't.

Btw, seiyuu trivia:
Yor's brother is apparently voiced by Kensho Ono. This dude is such a chameleon. I can never recognize him.
The "Shopkeeper" is Junichi Suwabe (Yami Sukehiro, Aizawa sensei, Sukuna Ryomen) and his first word in this series being "oya" was so iconic. Like, he pulled it off so fashionably xD

Also liked the opening. My second time listening to an anime theme by Official Higedandism. I like how they use the MC characteristics for the songs, btw. For TR, it was "crybaby" and this time, it's Anya's love for nuts. The ending is cooler tho.

Episode Two:

I thought episode two did another fine job with the task that it was given. So far I adore Anya more every second of every episode. She’s so cute it’s almost heartbreaking that this is a show and not real life.

Continuing from where we left off. Still looking for the third member of the party. In the end it becomes an assassin. Wonderful. This family really needed someone with the stability like a job like that gives. I did enjoy all the moments that went into it. And since she also really needed a husband. She doesn’t seem like a real bad person either. She, like our Spy, only does what she is told by her employer. We’ll see how this works out in the future. Spy x Family is now complete.

It's one of the most funny things about the whole episode. And she seemed so excited about it as well. This show has the drama & comedic timing that most shows can only dream off.

@sweetjacky -san I just saw a clip of this part from ep 2 and noticed that Loid picked up the grenade from the ground before jumping behind cover. It was happily rolling on the ground, lost by one of those pursuers, and Loid just made the best use of it. As expected of our dad. He spied a ring better than the diamond one UwU

From what I can see this has been the cutest episode yet. With Anya showing Yor her new home, that was so amazing. She’s so cute and she did it like a real kid would. That’s what makes this anime so great.

And we got more than just that. We got them going out together and becoming a real family step by step. That was nice to see and also Anya’s reactions with shock are adorable. They really are. I low key love this anime already just as it is so easy to watch. Doesn’t want too much from you as a viewer and you don’t have to think to much to follow the story. It’s a perfect anime for people who don’t like anime in my opinion.

I wonder how the interview is going to go. It seems like Yor & Anya aren’t really up to it haha! We’ll see how it goes, the preview showed us a little bit, but couldn’t make anything of it.

We got an MV for the endingggg!!! It's sooooo preciousssss!!!!!!! Especially that last bit with the three of them dancing together uuuuunnnngggg

This ep was so much fun! Anya and Saiki can hate on crowds together xD Good thing she established the reputation of her tummy early on. Then she could point out the criminal without being too sus UwU I really loved how Yor just jumped down the slope and our daddy had to keep up with mommy UwU sasuga, family!
The visit to opera and museum were fun too! Anya sleeping through the opera was entertaining enough xD

Btw, curious mind wants to know why we weren't shown Yor's brother's picture. Is he gonna turn out to be a surprise?!??!?!

I’m ready to cosplay Yor at any minute. We have the same favorite colours! Poor Anya—poor Yor. The whole flashback of otouto —squoze him too tightly and broke his ribs thing was hilarious. But I guess after the—oops it was violent shock therapy with the patients and then sudden engagement with a nut thing. I shouldn’t be surprised. The way she lovingly gazed at guillotines and strokes knives though…. I adore it! Yor with the perpetual headaches and poor Anya just wanting a peanut.

I already watched this episode as soon as it was on Crunchyroll but I didn't get to post about it yet. Another great episode, I loved how all three of them were working on catching the thief. Loid sure is getting swept away by his family life, it's so cute xD I just absolutely adore them three as a family, I hope they'll become an actual family at some point 🥰

Also one of my favorite moments in this episode was when Anya drew her family on the wall and tried to hide it but in the end it was so bad that no one recognized it 😂
