Marco Polo Deathblokey These thoughts are based on the rationale that normal Yonkou/admiral levels of durability come into play. Just like every awakened zoan (including Kaidou…and essentially every opponent of the climax fights), rapid recovery is the norm prior to B.S. Context implies CP0 and or the marines waiting in Wano Kuni waters will magically detain both successfully (Kaidou's 19+ defeats and captures).
The worst thing would be if Oda shows a panel of them mentally broken in Impel Down or while captured. Everyone has been defeated before, so what makes this different? If anything it would piss them off more since it is an embarrassing loss. Losing to Whitebeard or Roger or all these new powerhouses (like the 3 samurai STRONGER than Oden) isn't embarrassing since they are the strongest in the world.
So...more contradictions. Yonji and Niji are stronger than Luffy since they were actually able to get scratches on Big Mom...or is that supposed to be part of Big Mom's magical loss of endurance? Was she not eating ever since then?
So we see that there's another option for Big Mom to heal/power herself up. By stealing the life span of minions/weaklings in the area, she can literally restore herself back to 100%.
A nice nod to Rosinante with "R Room". So we see more of Law's awakening, which makes sense that he can stop Big Mom's soul awakening attack, create different types of rooms, etc. However...how the hell does he not one shot Doffy? How does he have more awakening energy as a NOVICE than Big Mom?
Just as with awakened zoans, Big Mom has astronomical endurance which results in rapid recovery. Even with her knocked out (we are shown her eyes completely rolling back and all white), she's fully conscious again immediately after. Law doesn't have the energy to attack her, and Kid's attacks have no explanation/rationale as to how they actually cause any damage. Awakenings are not all that rare. And none of this comes close to Aokiji/Akainu levels.
Oda makes it worse by trying to give us a tease in the latter half of the chapter by bringing up Roger. Yes it is Big Mom's personality to always blame others, but she doesn't think One Piece is real? The Yonkou with the BEST intel and already shown to have insight into Government knowledge about all of the taboo content still questions if One Piece is real?! Completely sloppy B.S.
I'll take the nod to Zoro going back to his roots where he has to get cut up to the verge of death in any climax fight, but this big B.S. isn't going to distract me from the other B.S. all over the place.
Really?! ONE bomb is enough to injure a Yonkou? Is that how much defenses are being negated? There is no haki, so this one bomb is somehow stronger than ALL of Yamato's attacks?! And this is WITH the legendary zoan attacks too. Maybe the white stuff is haki, but that's never been shown.
Even Raizou and the Oniwaban leader have contradictory haki usages. Luffy's Gear Fourth is all out haki throughout his entire body...yet legitimate fighters cannot use low levels of defensive haki throughout their body for similar times? Oden wasn't even the strongest in Wano Kuni and his defensive haki held up against higher temperatures for an hour. And this is on top of physical straining of carrying everyone too.
Plus this doesn't even cover what the explosion to create the victory is. There are no bombs falling. There's rubble and a crate. Yamato confirms this on the next page anyway.
But the biggest flaw to me is now the permanent scar of a "boring" adventure. Oda has now made Luffy a liar. Is he not going to fight Shanks too now? Hell, maybe it will be Akainu to defeat Blackbeard for us. What was impossible to happen, is now a possibility with Pandora's box opened. I half expect even Joy Boy stuff to be disconnected now. We just had a climax to an arc WITHOUT LEGIT FIGHTS FOR EVERYONE. How in the world does that happen with an abundance of enemies? I truly hope Oda has a legit reveal planned with Zunisha...a weak revelation just matches how pathetic the Wano Kuni arc ended up being.
Even the anime is doubling down on stupid hype. Just when things start to look up with introducing strong non-male characters, Oda craps in our faces and has all of them belittled. Even Yamato couldn't stop Kanjurou's evil dead spirit. I held my tongue on Oda's stupidity when it comes to equality, but I have no reason to hold back since his work is far from literary perfection. And ain't that ironic that our community should be the ones to take the most offense to this sort of stupid bias. Oda is REPEATEDLY crapping in our faces...and I sure as hell won't just sit there and take it. I think that's all I should have to say.
