As far as I understood, something screwed Japan over and some sort of mushroom releases a kind of spore that causes a strange disease - people start rusting like metal inside out and when the rust reaches their vital organs, they die.
Panda-doc (who looks a lot like Rimuru
don't mind me) is trying to find a cure for his sister who is part of the police (or equivalent) force? The local policemen making rounds seem friendly enough but there is definitely nasty business going on behind the scenes. The government rep felt like a yakuza :V (TsudaKen's voice goes so well with this types of characters that they even look like him!)
The Bisco dude was the one dressed up as a monk, claiming to carry dead bodies, right? He kinda looks like Natsu from Fairy Tail
again, don't mind me.
Both of them are protags, from the looks of it (I didn't read the synopsis and tried out the 1st episode on a whim). We were shown bits of events throughout the episode that gave us some idea about what kind of people they are - or at least appear to be. There was definitely some funny sequencing there because Panda-doc was definitely shown at two different spots at the same time: at the brothel and also at his chamber. Even when we were being shown evening time inside the city, we saw the monk talking to the border authority (immigration?) in broad daylight. I'm not against weird sequencing (this much is nothing after Kumo Desu ga Nani ka, or Peach Boy Riverside).
The episode kept my attention until the end and then I also saw some badass bg art on Instagram. There was another thing that I missed when watching the episode itself: the credit roll acknowledged an octopus???
Hope this show turns out good till the end /o/
