How to use flarum 101

This is just a quick guide on how to do some of the essential things on flarum. Everything works a bit different from phpBB but it's actually much easier so you shouldn't have a problem.

Click on "Start a Discussion" at the left side. If you're on your phone you can find an icon for starting threads on the top right.

Add a discussion title (and a poll if wanted)
Add tags to your thread. These are important because they will determine in which section of the forum your thread will be displayed. A primary tag is necessary, any further tags are optional. For example: when you want to make a thread for an anime you have to pick "Anime Series" as primary tag. If the series is completed you don't need any other tag, however if the anime is currently airing you have to add "Currently Airing" as secondary tag.

Write your thread content and post it 🎉

PS: If you're on the desktop version you can change the height of the box you make your thread in. To do that you just have to pull it up or down at the top side of the red border around it.

To upload an avatar you have to go to your profile and there you simply have to click on your profile picture to change it.

To change your signature you also have to go to your profile. On the left side you can find the option to change it. If your're on your phone you can click on "posts" or whatever you currently have selected at the top which will toggle up a menu with this option.

At the top right corner of your profile cover you can see a "controls" menu (on phone it's the three dots at the top right). If you click it you have the options to change your status, set a nickname (edit) in case you don't want a dull lowercase name with no gaps like marcopolo and you can also change your cover.

Note that statuses here work differently from before. All you can do is set a status without anyone being able to comment on it. Whenever you set a new status the old one will be lost.

This is an extension we decided to get for flarum because some of you might like this a lot. You can now display your preferred pronouns on your profile! To change them you have to go to your profile settings and select the option "change pronouns".

To start a private chat you have to click on the speech bubble icon you can find on the top tab. Doing so will open a menu where you can start a new conversation and see all your chats. Pm's are different from before now because we decided to go with a chatbox rather than an inbox. This makes pm's a lot more simple, fun and perfect for chatting with friends.
