Just like the other discussion, the 5 year plan is already in his head. Above, there's notebooks for each arc. The planning normally is years and years ahead of time, which is why the former editors knew the major points of WCI and some parts of the end of the story years ago. But yea, I completely agree on the curiosity of how he comes up with all these great twists.
