Hi all! I'm sure we have talked about this before but as the series progresses our opinions are constantly shifting and more attention can be given to various characters. So let's rank the Strawhats from Favorite -> Least Favorite (1 being the best and 10 being the worst).
If you're not up to date with the manga this may contain some minor spoilers.
Monkey D. Luffy - one of the only protagonists in anime that is my favorite character of the series. He's funny, even when it's unintentional, brave, and earnest without coming off as too dumb most of the time. Love how he gets the best out of people and pushes them to take things into their own hands; he will help people when they need it but he also pushes people to take action themselves.
Jinbe - though it irritates me that there is no consensus on how to spell his name, I am probably one of the biggest fans of the big fishy boi and his samurai ways. He has played such a huge role in the series and his self-sacrificing nature is admirable. His line about never fearing a mere Yonkou was amazing and I am so ecstatic he is finally with the crew.
Nico Robin - mad underrated and her "I want to live" moment is top 5 all-time in One Piece moments. Her Devil Fruit is still one of my favorite abilities in its versatility and usage. Think she could be a lot stronger than she's portrayed but her fight with Black Maria was definitely a step in the right direction with some awesome dialogue as well. She is cold-blooded and just as tough as anyone. The best girl in One Piece. When all of the crew was being sent away by Kuma her moment with Luffy hit me harder than any of the others.
Vinsmoke Sanji - he has climbed in my rankings over the last few arcs. His contributions and humor are always great to me and I love the moments he had in Whole Cake Island. Though he doesn't like it, I love his raid suit and the potential being implied that maybe he is artificially enhanced after all or maybe the latent abilities are starting to bloom.
Roronoa Zoro - sounds like we're finally going to get more backstory other than childhood friend tripping (or being pushed) down some stairs. Not the biggest fan of Zoro's almost tsundere attitude but his leadership and serious moments always hit well. "Have you ever seen a wild beast you were sure would not bite?" That's still one of my favorite lines in the entire series.
Nami - she gets used as a gag character with the weakling-trio but she has really been carrying her weight lately. Helped defeat Cracker, stalled Big Mom even if only for a moment, helped bring down Ulti, her best moment is still in Arlong Park and the image of her wearing the straw hat while crying is seared into my brain. Nami serves as a great compass for the idiots of the crew and she's not bad on the eyes either lol.
Brook - some really cool moments lately, weirdly versatile if not undefined abilities, his gags can get old but his cool moments are legitimate when it's time to get serious. Loved his interactions with Big Mom and he's far from an idiot when he's not joking around. Binks Sake and the countdown to a solo has to be one of the saddest moments in anime when you really put yourselves in his shoes.
Franky - I haven't liked Franky much in a long time. He has done some crucial things and shown to be one of the better fighters in the crew but his character design post-time-skip still doesn't sit well with me. Too often he seems to be a purely gag-based character anymore. I did love him driving his motorcycle across Big Mom's face and his fight in Dresserosa was great in its own weird way.
Usopp - never have liked Usopp honestly he is just kinda lame to me. The God Usopp stuff wasn't really funny to me and anything related to the tontatas was blah. His gag way of beating the little girl who turned people into toys just seemed really dumb. Would like to see him be a little braver than he is at this point of the story and the crew needs his ability level to be higher than it is. Definitely benefited the most from the post-time-skip redesigns. If he died I wouldn't bat an eyelash.
TonyTony Chopper - merchandise ewok bastard. He isn't funny to me, doesn't really come through very often. Even when he does it wasn't "cool" watching him solve the ice oni issue. "Doctoring" is somewhat inherently lame and I just hate his character design. He gets somewhat of a boost when he's utilizing his actual combat prowess and his blocking of a Big Mom attack was really impressive. It was kind of lame that Oda had Queen sandbag Chopper and took away what should have been a feat. If he died and Law replaced him as the crew's doctor I would be overjoyed.
What does your list look like? Where would you put Yamato is he joins? Doesn't seem like Carrot will be joining at this point, does it?
