Woah! The fan requests for the cover art is getting to Oda levels of depth! A young lion Mink getting clothes from Nami and Leo to match Bellemere's design is just so perfect.
Woah! Onigashima is already super close!
This Yonkou weakening is getting out of hand. So Momo seeing Kaidou strike Toki down is supposed to fuel legitimacy of Momo damaging Kaidou?! Toki cannot fight at all, so her not immediately being blown to bits, let alone still being alive reflects Kaidou astronomically holding back not only for Momo, but also for Toki (which is the opposite of what Oda is going for with this new pattern of trying to hastily make baddies hate-able rather than legitimate character development). Even if the genetic changes from the legendary zoan allows for astronomical strength/physical capability increases this 10-billion percent disregards BOTH haki and Kaidou already being a physical beast prior to his zoan abilities and his awakening. So even if Momo has "dragon strength" he isn't using haki. And Oda purposefully has shading that is bigger than a shadow around where Momo is biting with Kaidou's "instant recovery". If anything it seeps down the sides indicating slight bleeding.
So Oda is giving us some interesting bits with Jack and Perospero. Jack's half form is the weirdest with him being a centaur based form rather than a true 50-50 blend. We have Perospero potentially using an awakening with the candy around him being semi-autonomous.
Kid being changed to being pro-Luffy is a bit surprising.
But screw Oda trying to forcefeed us that Luffy is legitimately Yonkou level. Unless haoushoku is THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT much of a power up (which contradicts Kaidou not being able to defeat if not kill Yamato), Luffy has shown NOTHING to match Shanks/a weakened Whitebeard level of strength.
I thought the image of the Onigashima eye being split/showing Luffy's haoushoku sparks from his attack on Kaidou in full dragon form was a mistake, but I guess there was something to damage it earlier.
If I wasn't paying attention to details, I would like the double page spread for the victories more. All of the Scabbards did not want to learn from Oden, which is why it isn't really an Oden technique that they used. Oden doesn't use blade projectiles, which is what is being shown for both. If this is legitimate, at the bare minimum, Oda made a mistake on the technique that wounds Kaidou. That doesn't even begin to cover how three STRONGER samurai could not take down Kaidou (the samurai we are introduced to last chapter). Ugh...the contradictions will just keep piling up...
Based on the large teeth and nose, looks like Orochi is trying to escape up the castle rather than going down. He is too weak to pose a threat, so whatever, this does not matter at all. Hopefully Momo gets to eat him.
I have zero problem with the immediate implications of Momo being the one to save the Capital and thus "earning" his place as shogun. If it did not come at the expense of Hiyori being the shogun until he comes of age, I probably would have liked it. I find it to be a slap in the face of Oda's potential "progress". He made an effort to introduce strong female/trans characters and he just craps in our faces when they have potential times to shine. Going out of his way to make them scapegoats is why I feel so strongly about it being a piece of crap.
I didn't know the historical aspects to why the chapter title is key/foreshadowing. This has to be the opening chapter of volume 101 based on this (essentially this chapter is the point of the tide/momentum changing to now be pro-Luffy).
Maybe Oda will pull off some miraculous B.S. (ain't none of his B.S. so far come close to putting all the breadcrumbs together perfectly), but considering the clear pattern so far, this is statistically unlikely to happen. I don't expect mastered/next major power up of kenbunshoku to explain Kaidou's defeat. Even with Luffy's help (unless he is escorted to the kitchen/food storage), the alliance shouldn't be close to having enough combat capabilities to take down Big Mom. But then again, Big Mom is undergoing the biggest extents of Yonkou weakening so there's always that to fall back on.
So I'm guessing Big Mom's iron balloon magically is no longer a thing and Law and Kid won't even need haki to win. And this will be even worse, since neither of them have the cheat code of haoushoku coating.
