Profile Customization Thread #1

Hi, everyone. Today I wanted to show you the basics of profile formatting so you can edit your profile banner design to be more cohesive and creative. First, I've created a template to use. The profile banner formatting is the width (1600) and height (500). So keep that in mind when opening Photoshop or Gimp. Today I created this in Photoshop. EXAMPLE TEMPLATE). You'll only be focusing on the banner portion, so you can essentially take off the bottom part because you can't edit that at the current moment. BANNER SECTION). For my example, I used a two-toned style for my banner because there is an initial banner that's in light gray and the outer portion of the banner is dark grey. The outer darker banner is the height (500) and width (80). EXAMPLE OF OUTER BANNER). The inner grey banner is the width (1440) and height is (500). So after knowing this information you can start to plug it into Photoshop or Gimp. EXAMPLE OF INNER BANNER). As you can see, it's fairly simple from here. You can go many routes. Interesting and creative. That’s a “Cover Photo”, not a “Banner”. Using the correct language will help avoid confusion in the future ,just FYI. ^_^ Banners are like the thing that says “Club Member” on your profile and we cannot create our own. Unlike Signatures, Avatars and Cover Photos. There’s already a great deal of customization availability in profiles. We have those who set up Art/AV shops to put out materials for other members in the creative zone if they desire in exchange for VCC if there’s a demand, as well. I see you labeled this thread #1. If you’re going to have multiple “tutorials” on similar topics, they can be combined into one thread with a single title of “profile customizations” to keep the forum clean, I would think. ^_^
