Hahaha...the cover art request!
Woah...it's a dog base? My mistake on that one. The interesting focus by Kaidou for me is that Yamato is supposed to be the ruler of Wano Kuni. And perfect contrast with what makami represents.
Considering how much Robin (and everyone else outside of Luffy) was against Brook joining, it is the essence of the crew for people to bond over the similarities they do have. Having Robin acknowledge that they are the same with their crappy pasts of being alone for so long was great, but the more important aspect is that they work together perfectly. Great combat choreography with Robin and Brook alternating with overcoming the advantages Black Maria creates.
I'm not sure how a pug creates fire by running...if it was a weapon created Queen, then a machine is all that's needed to spin to create the fire.
But best of all, both Brook and Robin understood the roles of each member, their weaknesses, and their willingness to rely on each other. Plus, based on the translator notes on the scanlation, Robin's comment at the end reflect an SBS comment from volume 73 about important wings of Luffy (Zoro and Sanji).
I'm curious to see if there is some of new ability that the giant "flower" can do. The first thing that comes to mind is that if the giant can sprout giant attacks (vs. Robin having to combine multiple parts to create the giant attack). This should be the most legitimate power up, so if this is just nothing but Robing "gaining the power of a giant" (like Luffy with Gear Third), then that will be as depressing as the previous "power ups". So hopefully we do get something legitimate.
So Momo is the scapegoat and made into more of a weakling that he is crying over non-lethal wounds. This makes Luffy 100% correct since Momo doesn't truly understand the effects of him leading the samurai properly.
Caribou being able to escape (turn into a swamp and just camp out at the bottom of Onigashima until they get over the main island) isn't the problem. But the problem is for what purpose. He's probably going to be the one to find and steal an entire storage of meat for Luffy. So Luffy gets back to 90-100% after eating a ton. Momo gains proficiency of his fruit ability and gets Luffy back on Onigashima. And lastly we have Luffy and Yamato defeat Kaidou. This is coming up very soon since we are getting close to the end of the possible chapters included in volume 101. >
YES!! Robin vs Black Maria—that spider wench tried her best to trash talk but it didn’t work. Brook and Robin’s tragic pasts had their moments like Usopp against Perona. We can always turn our pain and weaknesses into strengths.
Yamato is a legendary wolf! I love him even more now. Yes that’s my wolf bias kicking in.
So, I’m glad that it was explicitly stated that Sanji did the right thing. I’m not super fond of the character due to his flaws but this was huge growth and it needed to be stated. Having the villain express the dissenting views of the fandom was beautimous in my opinion.
Luffy getting his meat fix, meeting up with Momo whilst Caribou watches is a good touch but we’ve finally got the part where his dragon gets called into play. Let’s see how the young leader handles this.
Yup, this section of the plot felt like some much needed character development amongst the crew nakama. Kinda crazy how readily it can occur when it's done right. So for me, the three way development is probably much more important than how fast and how unlikely (Robin being anti-ero and the essence of both Franky and Brook) it was for Robin and Brook to bond so thoroughly.
As for Caribou, context implies his fruit ability will allow him to find and steal an entire storage of meat so Luffy can fully recover for the upcoming climax fight...and especially with the anime doubling down on expansion of what kenbunshoku can do, I got an even worse feeling about the outcome...>
Love Robin and Brook bonding over the trauma of losing their friends and wishing they were alive so much. So glad they're both getting to shine here.
Also oooh, Caribou is back.
To me, even more so than the loss, they both bonded over their new "family". If the illusions were real, Robin would be balling tears of joy, so her sarcastic smile is something I want to see animated and hopefully her seiyuu does a great job of the one or two lines of the scene.
You normally are super thorough on reading posts, but just in case (no idea how much hours you are putting in with the job => hopefully that's going great) I got my bias on Caribou's role in the plot immediately above responding to your post.
