Oh man...what a set up on the first page! Even Ryuusui is all excited, but he's been shown to know quite a bit of science already so he was thinking why-man levels of science vs. necessity of the future. Perfect planning by the manga team to have shown us Suika's reaction, but I'm already liking the immediate "new role" and how seamlessly Suika fits in. My mind doesn't question and just accepts Kohaku and Suika reactions. Freakin Kohaku being petrified of just the food scraps is a great addition (and Suika being able to force herself to do it for the sake of science). BUT, the freakin poo is SINGING! Bochi wins for me.
I love how the manga team shows the necessary steps since we are skipping over MASSIVE amounts of science progression. Stuff that is a major part of an arc previously are just one panel or page. I'm glad the welding torch got an explanation since the amount of welding required for the Perseus alone could use up all or most of the organic fuel supply.
I had no idea spherical tanks were made this way, and it is ingenious. I assume massive molds were made, but no need to waste material/go through a harder means, so I had a pretty similar reaction (probably more towards the Senku side vs. Gen side).
I personally cannot wait for when Bochi creates his own series. There's just tons and tons of creative gems for the "minor panels" that usually just fill in the blank spaces. Second best for me is Ginrou trying to run away from work.
Wait...I thought teenage Suika was almost Senku's and Kohaku's height. She's shown to be significantly shorter and it's consistent throughout the chapter. I guess the chibi aspect will remain.
But wait...with Xeno levels of technology, and this being "level 1", not that many additional progressions are required. The visualizations on the power makes this strong enough to be a jet plane engine. Literally just scaling this larger is enough for a rocket to get into space.
The foreshadowing of Luna already realizing she will be separated from Senku and her reaction upon getting the news is perfect. And even better is Gen doing his thing to fix it.
Oh, I didn't notice but Ukyou is repping Fort Medusa with an updated logo on his hat! There's lights/explosions to represent the engine and fuel technology. And Gen's reaction to his team being the exact opposite of Chrome's reaction is just so fitting. Plus Chelsea just loves her job, so that's to be expected too.
I wonder if Chrome is being honest with his answer to Suika at the end. But either way, this is one hell of a way to commemorate chapter 200. Soooooooo much stuff went down, and it hypes the next arc perfectly. And best of all, we will get sporadic updates with Xeno's team and Corn City.
But the immediate set back is that they need a second ship...maybe this has been built already too, but I guess we will have to just wait and see since context implies the majority of panels will focus on Senku's side.
