Heyo everyone : So, I liked KapteynG's thread on free game offers but any game offered that way is usually outdated / sometimes bad / the offer only applies as a trial period ( which doesn't even last long ). So, while getting / trying out those games while they're free is still a great deal and all, I'd personally like a thread which contains a bigger variety of games, which can also be some of the more recent and popular ones depending on the offer. Personally I mostly use Steam if I'm going to buy any game because my PC is basically my sole gaming station for when I have time to play, so any offer on the games I mention will mostly be from there. Now, as for what you can expect from this thread: I won't be mentioning every single game that is on any amount of discount at all given times. Due to the certian situation, many platforms make great offers on many games right now so doing that would certainly take up a lot of time and if we're talking about a discount of 10% or something or the sort, I don't think that's even worth mentioning. The criteria for games mentioned in this thread will mostly be games which are at least on 50% discount or games whose discount is close to that but I deem fit to mention based on my personal preference. Also, during certain occassions, there are mass discounts for a whole genre of games or other criteria and I won't be able to mention every single game then so in those cases, I'll just be mentioning the genre or any given criteria and some symbolic games of my choosing to give you a taste of the whole deal. This is what you can expect from what I post here personally when I do so but of course anyone else with similar information, and especially from other platforms is always more than welcome to post here and let everyone know of the deals they know about. Without further adieu, let's get to it. Disclaimer: Many games release DLCs (Downloadable Content) after their initial release, which are basically either expansions of the game or miscellanous content like outfits and gears / skills, and the case often is that when there is a discount on the base game itself, there are also discounts on the DLC separately or in the form of a Deluxe / Ultimate / etc edition of the game that may include them. I won't be mentioning any such discounted prices separately and will only be refering to the base game. Additionally, I haven't played many of those games myself so in most cases, I may also be unaware of any bugs they may show if played on a PC instead of a console and any opinion on them may just be based on my knowledge of the series they're based on, general knowledge about the franchise itself or comments on it I've happened to hear instead of having personally played them. So if you're considering buying because of the discount, I recommend you do check out the franchise, some gameplay content or any possible bugs on the PC version before doing so. As luck / fate / destiny or whatever else have you would have it, the first games I'll be mentioning are...*drum rolls* One Piece games!!! In light of Golden Week, Steam has released substantial offers ( April 29th - May 6th until 10am Pacific Time ) on a big amount of Japanese related games. In other words, they found where anime fan-gamers like me hurt and they decided to exploit it by offering great deals on several great games. This is some lv 7 Impel Down psychological torture I tell you. Tread lightly from here on out: 1) Let's leave OP for last and start off with another but equally great ( if not better in my opinion ) game: In case you weren't aware, the sequel of Automata, Nier has recently come out, so I guess Steam decided to allow people to catch up to the story at a discounted price by offering a good deal on the prequel. One important side note though, I read some Steam reviews and they say that you need to add a special mod for it to work properly on PC so anyone considering purchasing it should look it up before doing ( the dark side of PC gaming... : ) 2) Are you a Dark Souls fan? Are you an anime fan? Do you want to combine the two? From what I've heard, this game is the one to do it for you: I haven't actually played Dark Souls myself so I dunno what to expect but I've been looking forward to the release of this particular game before it was even released so even though this is late, I took advantage of this offer and bought it for myself. I haven't actually had the time to try it out yet though : , so don't ask me for opinions yet. 3) Are you a fan of the Monster Hunter franchise? Is Monster Hunter a bit too light for you and you want something heavier and darker? How about the equivalent of Monster Hunter ( in the broad sense ) but set on a post apocalyptic world where creatures called Aragami have essentially taken over the world and you have to kill them in an effort to save the human race? Unfortunately I don't think those things are edible so I wouldn't expect your cat chef to make a meal out of the game you've hunted...or so I think anyway. 4) *Ragnar Lothbrok voice* "Who wants to be King?!!" Apparently Noctis, but someone sure is hell bent on letting him have his throne. How does he deal with it? He goes on a road trip with 3 of his close bros and their badass car while slaying monsters. I'm not extremely informed about the story but hey, I'm sold with just that set up. And if that wasn't enough, I have two words for you: Cindy Aurum Nuf said... : 5) Last but definitely NOT least, we have the whole ( if not the whole, at least most of it ) One Piece game franchise, at least the ones that can be played on PC I guess. From Pirate Warriors to World Seeker, even JUMP FORCE is incuded. I haven't really played them or checked up on them so I don't really have anything to say about them, expect for one thing. If any One Piece fan wanted to try these games for the sake of lore ( and possibly cause the games themselves are great ), these prices would be godsent (assuming they run fine on PC ofc). Before I close, just a reminder to all of you who read this and might be interested. Be sure to check the requirements for each game and make sure your PC / laptop can handle at least a fair deal above the minimum ones ( cause the minimum would probably just be a mass of lag ) and ideally also look up if there were any issues with the PC version of the game you want to buy after its release ( god knows many people who pre ordered Cyberpunk 2077 for PC probably learnt that lesson the hard way ).

Did you miss out on getting the anime game you wanted during the Golden Week Discont madness? Well, Steam did you a favor and kept the spirit going with a new offer that ends on the 10th of May and is dubbed "Animay". Code Vein (which I have now started to play and can now tell you that I am REALLY liking it so far), God Eater 3 and the whole One Piece gaming franchise still have their discounts going for them so now you have even more time to consider whether you want to buy them or not. Yes, apparently they wanted us to feel lament over the previous discount ending and cursing our indecisiveness that caused us to miss the chance to buy them previously. That way we'd be overjoyed to see the same disconted prices now and buy. Man, forget lv 7, this is some lv 8 Impel Down psychological torture for us, and simply good marketing for them. In any case, along with some of the previous gamesI mentioned still being sold at a considerably discounted price, there are a couple of new aditions. 1) The whole Sword Art Online franchise. I will be honest, this is definitely NOT something I'd buy personally. Most of the games in the franchise are seemingly what I call FRPGs (Fixed Role Playing Game) where the game's main character is set in stone. In cases like Assassin's Creed, Zelda, The Witcher, I don't mind it and I even like it. But as far as SAO goes, there's enough of him and the whole harem scheme in the anime, I don't want to have to deal with that in a game too. But if SAO is your thing and you want to experience the SAO lore from a gaming standpoint, these are good prices to do it with. 2) The whole Naruto franchise. Like One Piece and SAO, this is pretty self explanatory. Like other games based on existing series, it's a nice experience to experience the lore of said series from a gaming standpoint, assuming you like the series itself of course. So if you like Naruto and want to play the games at a cheap price, this is your time. If you don't know Naruto, then you should probably start with either the manga or the anime, not the games. 3) The whole Dragonball franchise. This really feels like Animay... . I feel like I'm repeating myself at this point so you probably get the gist, don't you? Another game based on a popular series. Do you like the series? Well, I don't know if the games will be any good but if I were to try them out, I'd certainly prefer these prices over full price. 4) Finally to talk about a specific game! This is a game that may cause some nostalgia and remind you of a the time you used to wake up early to go watch its series on TV, Along with pokemon, one of the best turn-based-combat, monster-collecting franchise. The monster collecting fever is what every pokemon fan has gone through and this is a chance to re live it. Also, for those of you who like action but don't like action, meaning you want to see cool attacks WITHOUT worrying about watching the opposing monster / boss to notice if there is a shine in its eyes and visualize its muscle movements to predict where it'll pounce on next so that you'll evade in time and counterattack, this is the type of game for you. 5) Unfortunately, the last mention is also a whole franchise. Fortunately, it's a amazing one. Call of Duty is one of the two franchises I think of when I think of FPS (First Person Shooter) games, along with Counter Strike. Relax, Far Cry fans, your game is definitely great too, it's just not the one I usually played with my friends while growing up. But putting aside both Counter and Far Cry, Call of Duty is the father of FPS games for me, especially for consoles. With a story that from what I know, fans have kept praising with every release, Call of Duty has become widely known and it's definitely one I personally like. How many games from 5-6 years back can truly hold their own against modern games? Sure, some appeal to the nostalgia in us but this is one of the games that can hold its own without even a lick of nostalgia from us: This is not a game I've played but it's a game I want to play after checking it out. Set in a medieval style semi open world, much like the Witcher 3, that you can fully explore at your discretion, DAI seems to have things to offer from every angle. 1) Lore. With most new games losing subtance by recycling scenarios and focusing on graphics, and essentially making comparing games a matter of who's prettiest, a game with a great enough story to allow you to immerse yourself in the world it's depicting is truly rare and something to look out for. I mean, that's what games are supposed to do, right? Act as a window to an exciting world that you couldn't have experienced otherwise, serve as a visual / audial, and more importantly interractive, representation of worlds we could only see in books. DAI seems to do a decent job of that. And if you're looking to fully dwelve into the lore of the series by playing previous titles, Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age Origins are available for the very same discount (-75%). 2) Lore is important of course but graphics aren't something to sneeze at either. I don't like it when either of those is ignored while fully focusing on the either. Well, fear not. DAI didn't neglect the visual artistry that are its graphics just because it has a nice story. The world of DAI seems to be full of color and depicts what at least I would imagine as a "fastasy world" to a tea. Not that I disliked the bleak / desolate / spooky / etc style that The Witcher 3 offers ( I loved it actually) but if you want something lighter on the eyes, DAI seems like a good choice. 3) Combat. Checking out this part actually surprised me. DAI seemingly features a combat system that combines the action style RPG combat we're used to for most RPG games like this with just the right hint of strategy for an RPG. While adventuring with a party of 4 (main char + 3 NPCs of your choice out of several), you can actively switch control of your character to any character in your party and you can even momentarily switch a "strategic viewpoint" where the combat essentially poses to allow you to take a look at the battlefield and make the appropriate choices. This is quite original for an RPG and it certianly piqued my interest. But if that style of combat isn't your thing, I assume you'd still be able to complete the game and enjoy the story and combat alike even with just controlling your main character. (plus I think your party members can somehow revive you and vice versa so it should help in making that possible) That's it for now, may the prices be ever in your favour.

Terror is your game? Bioshock is the name. Cause if horror is your thing, Bioshock is king. Okay, to put poetry aside, this is one (from what I've heard anyway) of the big names when horror games are concerned. I don't really have much to add about the game itself, it looks to be a solid game of the horror / survival type, not unlike Resident Evil (in case you're familiar with that one). However, I do want to point out one thing. We're not talking about Bioshock 1, Bioshock 2 or Bioshock Infinite, we're talking about ALL 3, including a season pass. That's right, with a discount as big as -80%, you can get the whole trilogy, along with a season pass, cheaper than it would have been to buy any single one of them at normal prices. If you think this type of game genre is for you, this is a good chance to fill that gaming library. That's it for now, may the prices be ever in your favour.

Even though this title isn't one I've tried personally, I've watched gameplay footage, because I was interested even before the discount, and it's a nice one. This game probably isn't for your casual gamers out there, unless they've got a pretty good handle on your emotional state. Being essentially a Van Helsing simulator, the game features a combination of PvP and PvE combat, which can get very competitive. While controlling a character who can sense traces of hell on Earth and uses those abilities along with a big variety of , the game revolves around hunting down demon spawns / monsters from hell in order to kill them. However, you're not the only ones doing so. Other players on the same hunt can impede you ( or help you if you find a benevolent soul I guess? ) and downright kill you in order to loot you. So I wouldn't recommend you go and write your initials in your gun or something or the possible emotional detachment might hurt more than it should. There's a single rope hanging from the sealing and leading of hell though, your teammates (if you have any) can revive you, so teamwork is encouraged. It's not for everyone but if you think it's for you, I think it's a good one. That's it for now, may the prices be ever in your favour.

The epitome of strategy games: Being hailed as one of the best (if not THE best) strategy game, Civilization VI is a game that most strategy game fans would most likely want in their game library. And if you're going to play strategy games, I've always been an advocate of doing so on the PC compared to any other gaming console, so this is a huge chance. Just be careful about managing your gaming time if you buy it, as I've heard that it can be quite...time consuming to say it mildly. Presumably the most badass "Archeolgist simulator" franchise: This is a series mostly focused more on pure action than any RPG-like elements we may be used to but that's only for most of its games. It has long since incorporated such elements into the gameplay and while it may not compare to games whose RPG elements are their bread and butter, it does at least seem enough to not leave us wanting for them. But either way, the biggest appeal of these games is the exotic scenery and puzzles it feautures throughout the story. Compared to most completely open world games that are dominating the gaming industry, going back to classic games with a linear / semi-linear storyline filled with mystery, excitement and action may actually be as refreshing as open world games were when they were first introduced. At the very least, I'm interested in some of them considering the low discounted prices. For your information, in case you're interested, you can either buy separate games of the franchise or a bundle containing the whole franchise as they all seem to be on discount. Steam currently has a sale named "Open World" and as the name would imply, it's offerring discounts on many open world games, including many titles previously mentioned in this thread. I won't name each and every one of the previously mentioned titles but I will mention one game. One of the absolute best titles of its franchise: Easily the best game of the franchise for me ( keep in mind that I haven't played Valhalla yet) and the stealth genre itself. It takes place in ancient Greece at the time of the Peloponnesian war, a setting that led to the game feauturing a truly stunning world, which you can fully explore on foot or by horse / ship. It's the 2nd game of the franchise with RPG elements and it's safe to say that the developers have learnt from their mistakes and made Odyssey better than Origins. Of course, it still leaves a few small details to be desired but they're so miniscule that they can easily be found on other games which have been feauturing RPG elements since their first title. This is one of my alltime favorite games and one I very strongly recommend, especially at this price. That's it for now, may the prices be ever in your favour. :

Not a big enough discount to warrant a mention in this thread based solely on that but I've seen more than one positive opinion of the game in the forum so I thought this worth mentioning. Sadly, there's not much time left on the discount but the game is cheap enough even without the discount so if you act fast, you can get it for cheap now. I haven't played it myself but it looks more than just a simple farming simulator. It looks more like a fantasy / farm life simulator, which includes more than just farming. It brings the Rune Factory series in mind if that rings a bell for anyone. There are several people who play it here on the forum so if anyone wants to add a more exprienced perspective on the game, they're more than welcome to. Not a title I'd normally pay special attention to but after playing Stardew Valley, it caught my eye fairly easily when it was put up on discount. For those of you who've played Stardew Valley, this game seems to be a next gen SDV and for those of you who haven't, play it. But to say a few words about them as well, both are what you'd call life simulator games but based on a semi fantasy setting. They're not just farming simulators but involve a variety of "life skills". One could call them survival games without the actual survival part. Enough words have been said about them, I just got My Time At Portia as well so I'm looking forward to trying it out myself as well. I do hope it'd not literally just a 3D version of SVD. Although it's a great game, I'd like to see some improvements in more than just graphics.
