This started off a bit sadly, NGL. And you have to wonder just what happened in her life but then the ojisan cuts her a deal and helps her out immensely. Suddenly she has something she prizes that brings her joy. Something that she can take pride and interest in. She’s learning because it’s exciting and she has a sense of freedom. There’s probably part of her that is thinking of the escape of death but she also fears it. So let’s take this journey and see as she joins the land of the living while staying on the edge.

Awww, she made a friend. How sweet. And she’s branching out into the world. The little fantasy was pretty cute too but I like the nonchalant way she actually revealed her Cub even better, tbh. I wonder when they’ll start going on rides together and how that will work with the difference in power between the bikes.

I watched the first episodeeee Dyamm. The way her world brightens up when she started the bike!!!! The mood was flat almost throughout the episode- or so it seemed. When she could finally start the bike in front of the combine and then successfully went back home - I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Damm she got me. Also, the way she grins at the bike, like she can't hold it in, makes me grin along and she reminds me of chopper xD

She’s got so much more in her life now. The Cub brought her joy, a friend/comrade, more accomplishments and bonding with more people. This includes strangers and her sensei. There are connections to the world that didn’t exist before. This is great. She’s acknowledging the changes very much and her adjustment period. It’s healthy and fun to watch occur.

She got a job, learned to do her own oil change, got rain gear and all around expanded her horizons. She’s visiting a friend’s house!! It’s like she’s an entirely different person now. It’s so fantastic to see her blossom like the rain was watering a little seedling of a plant and the Cub is the fertile ground in which she’s planted that somehow lets her spread her roots and grow.

Koguma's life is changing soooooooooo drastically ohmygoooooooood She did her first parttime job, learned how to maintain her Cub's health (aaaa proud mommy) and even met up with a friend!!!! The developments in this story feel so strong. aaaaaaaaaaaa Reiko's house looks quite spectacular. It seems quite far from the town center... more like a wayside inn. Maybe that was a reason why she's been driving longer. Okay I am not a fan of vehicles in wilderness however Reiko’s summer was awesome. She stayed on trail (unless she crashed and fell off), so it was fine. They were so cute talking it over afterwards and the truth about the cursed cub lol.... also the first bike WeebyPartner ride was a CT110 so that’s cool. Reiko is gonna turn out girl into a gear head—hahaha!

A school trip is the next adventure. Starts off sounding pretty normal. They’re disagreeing on how to spend free time, etc. But then she wakes up with a fever. Immediately we’re thinking oh no, I guess she’s going to have to go on her own to eat the tasty food when she feels better. Couldn’t be more right! She feels better almost immediately and heads right out on an adventure. Not only that but she climbs Fuji, takes the road she disparaged and instantly breaks her word to sensei about not riding while on the trip lol. She’s so addicted to her Cub that she’s convinced it’ll be around with her forever. So cute. ^_^

Aww we finally meet the third girl from the credits/opening. How precious. She’s even more faint hearted then our protagonist. Looks like the sensei from the summer job is getting interested in Cubs too. They’re gonna convert everyone lol. I like how the MC is all wise and crap now spouting off sage advice like an old lady...

Winterizing and bonding with Shii. Super cute. That cafe was so much fun. I’d love to go to a super eclectic place like that if the food was authentic. Otherwise it was just be annoying. I wonder if Shii is going to end up with a Cub or is just someone brought into her life by the Cub. She expressed interest earlier.

Episode 8 was really precioussssss. Reiko had a fun time making fun of Koguma after Koguma went astray from the right path of shopping : > That cafe was so much fun. America and England with the Atlantic Ocean dividing them : > I wonder if Shii is going to end up with a Cub or is just someone brought into her life by the Cub. She isn't shown with a bike in the opening but she does share the town view with the others from the vantage point. They're definitely gonna be great friends :'D

Winterizing and getting to be better friends. A truly warming episode. So yeah, she’s not getting a bike it seems from the opening. Though she does seem to be questioning being left out. So it’s still up in the air. I like that our protagonist is getting to rely/reach out to people more. She’s a bit blunt/unused to how to put things mildly or the finer points of interpersonal communication but she’s getting there in her own way. They do need to try to socialize more with Shii rather than just have a transactional relationship with her. It’ll make her feel more included. Just saying. They get so wrapped up that they don’t realize the in and out group thing. So I’m glad the teacher made her that thermos cozy. It made her part of the group.

They did all that to keep out the cold winter wind. Of course, the whipping wind you get on bikes is really tough to handle. But .... what about their legs? Their poor, poor legs are still bare.......... Reiko did get socks but they reached only a little over her ankle........ I don't remember any school regulation about female students not being able to wear tights underneath their skirts they usually don't because fashion but here, our bikers don't feel the wind on their legs? xD Sorry about ranting only about this but watching them made me feel cold on the other side of the screen, sooooo... xD

All that frolicking in the snow plus the chains and gear was cute but I was worried that Shii wasn’t home when they left. Sure enough. That phone call at the end. Noooo. Shii-chan. She fell AND she’s in the water in the winter. 😭😭😭
