This was so intriguing. He ended up in some situations. But the music... and then the interactions were different than I anticipated. Just when I thought it was a relatively tame or standard ish show... a storm stirs up at the end with with female who blows up the door and crashes in!!

So that woman was his mother?! Eep. She’s a handful. But her voice. Wow. Too bad the string broke but that song was great. And I wonder what’s going to happen with the school club. Nice to see the brothers getting along and playing well together. negatibuhige they’re doing the full performances just like I expected them to do.

So... they’re really going all out with the turmoil in this one aren’t they? This poor kid is just going to be the epitome of tortured artist. But it looks like we’re building up a good cast around him of supporting characters and rivals. I can get with that. I want to hear him play for obachan. Let the nothingness guy wallow in his superiority for now. He’s going to get blown away soon enough.

He decided to play! The way he did it was great. And the music. Ugh. Plus it looks like there’s a love triangle going on which will be interesting in the club. It’s a full on square because Hina? has a crush on our prodigy I think. And at least the Tokyo snob recognizes his potential. Plus he met another player. So many moving parts. And mom is going to enter him in a contest already lol.

Episode 4 out already? I only watched episode 1 the other day. So many things were happening! I'm loving the dialect. The colorful bed cover piqued my interest very much. Usually, we get only monochrome bed covers but of course, people usually use colorful ones. This simple element added so much realism to the visuals! And of course, the art and animation are really great. And the music. Oh my gawd the music. This is how I want a musical anime to be. There were flashbacks and other stuff during the playing but they never overshadowed the music. I LOVE IT.

Yup. Mom really did create a fricking inter high competition just to get him exposure. And the whole teaching thing... he tried lol. But the conversation about his sound with the classmate was phenomenal. Then the snobby guy really is attached despite himself. How cute. These guys... if they can get their sounds and emotions together... phew. It’s going to be so awe inspiring.

Plus it was called the sounds of our life so it’s about how the music connects lives and emotions. That’s only logical. Like sure, maybe it could’ve been longer but such is life. They paced it pretty well, imo. But this isn’t the thread for that.

A lot of emotional stuff in this one. Backstory, bonding and what not. But I was glad that Setsu made progress on his relationship with his music and making music with others. The fact that he could discern who could best use the instruments to make the most pleasing sounds and communicate that rather than not listening to them play was a huge leap. The little old lady bring a spy was clear when she just stood awkwardly by everywhere.
