Whoa. So Hao is an Asakura for sure. How typical. I mean at least Anna got to show her stuff and is about to come in serious handy again. The whole thing with Horohoro though. I felt so badly for Apollo, Kokoro too. Those f-ing poachers. Ugh.

Horohoro came back pretty blasé lol. I’m not entirely upset with Ren for being fed up with his attitude. That being said, at least they’re all together. I like the juxtaposition of Yoh’s calm about resembling Hao with everyone else being creeped out. Ryuunosuke has no self awareness about being a perv towards ya boi though. It was great to see him power up though. That being said, his spirit isn’t older than Yoh’s is it? Oh wait, he was defeated by him so I guess he is. That teamwork though. So beautiful. I loved it.

Shaman King Anime's 18th, 19th Episodes Delayed Due to Olympics details here Ack! Things got really good. Like yeah there was the flashback which was super nifty. But the good stuff was these new guys, Lyserg turning into an immoral twit, all of the tension that built up and the “letdown” only to find out that Hao is with Anna and the gang. Now I have to wait a while?! Nooooooo…..

They experienced the Great Spirit, formed teams, met a new member… Anna faced off with Hao. So much is going on now. But on top of it, Manta is about to have an altercation with the necromancer again. I really hope that Amidamiru gets his sword fixed though.

Chocolove’s attack was called Shaft lmao. The Black Panther part was funny too… but the attack itself was cool. I mean he’s a gigantic stereotype so if I don’t laugh, I’ll cry like yeah. Lyserg got taken in by Hao’s people just like all the signs showed us would happen. And Faust is a sensitive soul who is going to help them out. How touching that you can’t judge a shaman by its cover. We’ve got Silva and Anna working together behind the scenes plus next time we get to see how Boz works out as media for Peyote. Good stuff.

We learned more about Chocolove this episode. The one black guy was a gang member? Okay… I mean whatever. He’s reformed thanks to the old dude from the rainforest and he’s now a black Jaguar of peace. We’ll just run with it. Moving on. This show is so dated. I’m not even touching the Dio de Les Muertos stuff like let’s sprinkle in some stuff and make him corrupt but then again there’s the entire premise of the show so why am I complaining now? Ren got all powered up but Yoh isn’t concerned. Lyserg seems to be fighting next. That should be a sight.

Ryuu’s pompadour went flat he was so shocked lmao. But Lyserg changed so much. Brutal. Yoh still had faith though. Good guy. Anna too. Iron Maiden Jeanne is just wow. Way too much. God level shaman my butt. Yoh’s decided for sure to win now. But that party lol. There’s always got to be one.

Manta getting terrified waking up to Faust again. Yoh is super cocky now but also he learned some nifty stuff and is still lazy lol. Faust converting to be closer to Eliza was touching but Anna exploiting him was less so. Luckily Yoh is protecting his fragile emotions (except from Anna against whom he’s helpless). Amidamaru evolving is pretty nifty but didn’t Togereh ke whatever Ryuu’s spirit’s name is evolve as well? So it’s not surprising. I wonder what Ren is do psyched to have a reason to use.

Faust and Ryu came through big time with the power ups and the ultimate faith in Yoh. Then the man himself showed up and displayed why they had such faith by calling out the Icemen to do their best. After all of that, Ren gets propositioned by Hao? And he was afraid? Uh oh.

Wow. Yoh’s talk with Lyserg turned into a confrontation with the X-Laws in which Jeanne came to his defense and then invited him to join? Of course he turned her down which pissed them off even more but the match between them and Hao was just. Ugh. I’m glad that at least some of them appreciate Lyserg for who he is. Though it seems that Yoh is losing the battle to remain calm. *sigh*

So… lots of revelations and emotional stuffs. They showed more in depth versions of the very beginning scenes of the series—Yoh’s birth. A very good episode, in my opinion. Nice to know that Silva is actually descended from Hao as well. What are the odds of him getting matched up with Yoh? The universe really does have a plan, it seems. Though Hao’s plan is basically to spiritually fatten up Yoh so that he can absorb him at the end, we know it’s not going to turn out that way. The question is, what is going to happen? When is Ren going to use the family’s lightning sword and has Yoh mastered the elements in the same was as Hao? Is Silva really on his way to hand that video over to Yoh and his team? So many questions.

Duuude. Hao is going to win? And thus the Asakura’s and Tao’s have made a deal? Oof Yoh’s dad is a beast. Him versus Ren is brutal. Nice to see the lightning sword in action but just dang. This is so not pretty. Those guys were reporting to Hao not the other Patch officials. I didn’t think they were his flunkies. I thought they were Patch officials but oh well.

So Ren learns new techniques just to almost die and take the other two with him? I’m not amused. Anna and the crew coming to the other team’s rescue was a nice touch though. That battle will be fun to watch methinks.

This series still should’ve updated with the times I think. If they were going to renew it, they could’ve done more than just refresh the anime style and kept all the racist tropes. But if you can get past them, it’s a decent show. That’s a big “if”. It’s kind of hard to accept the preachings of love everyone to make the world go round when faced with so much blatant author/creator prejudice. shrug
