The Voting
If possible (if there's enough submissions), you have to vote for 3 submissions in each category.

Do not vote for your own submissions. In case there aren't enough submissions though, you can still vote for it but that vote simply won't be counted.
The points for the voting are called "paws". First place votes are worth 3 paws, second place votes are worth 2 paws and third place votes are worth 1 paw.

Birthday Cake
Would you look at that, it’s that special day again.
How many of those have I had now? I’m starting to lose count.
I’ll think about it later, I’m late for work.
That cute girl who works down the hall just smiled at me. I wonder if she knows what day it is?
You idiot, of course she doesn’t. You’re too afraid to talk to her.
I’d better get to work. Those reports won’t write themselves.
It’s weirdly quiet here today. I wonder where everyone is.
When I get up to fill my coffee cup, I realise the office is empty.
Weird.
When I open the door to the break room, my co-workers are all on the other side.
“Surprise”, they say.
There’s a little cake with some candles on.
“Make a wish,” they say.
A wish? I’d almost forgotten what those are.
But if I could ask for one thing,
It’d be for that cute girl from down the hall to be here next time.

Celebrating one of ours
With dance,smile,laugh and sing
Having everyone enjoy themselfs
What will this day bring?
Besides a presentfilled shelf
Happy birthday as they say
With cake and candle
Oh what a beautiful day
Giving the special person the first cake sample
Yearly we celebrate
