I HOPE Oda shows that happening, like really. Would be freaking hilarious that Lucci get's beaten up by pigeon thugs.
Man, I sure hope so since this would be awesome!>
Yeah, and that means Law will do his best to find Kaidos heart. So romantic.
LOL yeah! Well, not like we know if he is, prolly not. Everything is possible after all. I was a bit suprised by Kid saying that, since it seems he is taking BM very seriously. Kid is quite arrogant after all.
Hahaha...it would be even funnier if Law could play along too! He's too stuck up to do something like that normally, so all the better if it did happen. And same thing applied to Kid's general personality too.>
In the future when Zoro can control it better, it will do much more damage. It also means Zoro is gonna need to learn to use more haki, and how to control it longer..
I'm kinda bummed if Enma is just a super special sword that is allowing for the implied massive power up. Sure, Zoro can "make it his own" by making Enma a "black blade", but it seems like Zoro's "devil fruit sword" which always seemed like too much of a copout to me. I'm still holding out that it was just a massive amount of training by Zoro and that is his primarily his haki energy.>
- Law really looks like a babysitter. I'm sorry, it's true.
Haha...yes, to a certain extent for sure. But technically, Law is the one that should be damaging Kaidou the most with his Gamma Knife. >
- I'm curious about something. Will Oda decide to give Luffy a Gear 5? Something's been bothering me since I first saw his Gear 4.
4 is "death" in Japanese, so ending on four is highly unlikely.>
- While I do enjoy the pace the manga is going, I hope that the battle is not going to be 100 chapters.
The stated consensus is that things will turn for the worst next chapter, so the fast pacing likely continues. Plus, we aren't jumping between scenes, so this really helps a ton too.>
One way to look at it is this - The thing that made Oden special from a combat standpoint is that he mastered Enma AND the other sword (the one Momonosuke has?). If Zoro masters Enma alone, that’d be enough to make him a special swordsman, and probably at a level where he could realistically achieve his dream. I think one of the things about Zoro that gets overlooked is that he is very good at mastering “difficult” blades. He mastered Sandai Kitetsu almost instantly, and Wado Ichimonji/Shusui are both high level blades that he fought very competently with. Enma is obviously on a different level and he’s still growing into it (which is why it feels like such a hack at the moment), but we’re getting near the end of the series and he needs that final power boost. It’s like getting an old hand-me-down that’s too big, and your parents say “you’ll grow into it”. He’ll grow into it, probably a lot quicker than we think.
Yup, just mentioned it with Stormy, but I'm holding out that Zoro had a ton of training so that the majority of the haki energy in this new attack is from him and not from Enma. The stated answer by Oda is that Zoro can make Enma a black blade through use over the remainder of the series (there has to be some other X-factor since Oden was using both swords with level 2 haki for many years and they still are not black blades).
Based on the current context, Enma is roughly equivalent to a devil fruit infused sword. Just having it makes a huge power up for the user. I guess it makes sense since Luffy getting his awakening is a similar power-up, but maybe just wishful thinking that Zoro could work his way all the way to the top without any "shortcuts". >
Also Law saying "I'm not your personal servant," please Law, as if you haven't been Luffy's servant ever since Punk Hazard
Man...people "hating" on Law! It's still a "alliance" even if Luffy's idea of an alliance is completely skewed!>
I'm assuming that he wanted to hover above them as it's a perfect position for his blast attack. And to be honest I don't really think his dragon form is more vulnerable than his human form, but more like he underestimates them sooo much like you said, and that little slip up leads him to him getting caught off guard by the supernovas' rapid development.
Ah, great point on the superiority posturing/body language.
The dragon B.S. stems from the anime further implying Kaidou takes some level of damage in his dragon form (the only instance where increased size/mass decreases strength/physical attributes => Luffy's Gear Third increases his strength, but Kaidou's strength and durability decrease despite being thousands of times larger than his human form) in the initial fight scenes against Luffy in Gear Fourth (the beautiful additions of visualizations of haki).
It takes level 2 haki on a blade to penetrate Kaidou's skin in his human form. As of right now, normal blades and normal physical attacks are damaging Kaidou in his dragon form. None of them recognized level 2 haki so unless they understood it and figured out how to use it from that alone, something doesn't fit.>
It's just like Luffy to say something like 'it's because of willpower/guts' haha, but I've heard that some people were curious if it actually has something to do with his haki, that sort of helps him push through the attack.
Oh, 100% Luffy is using defensive busoushoku. For Kaidou, he is made blind to the damage for the sake of the joke. Plus, Oda hides the damage on purpose as well so all the puzzle pieces fit together.>
Oda teased about gear 5 in Vol.98 SBS
Oh man, I love this microsoft paint "handwriting"! At least Oda is confirming Gear Fifth!
