Man, this chapter was worth it and too bad I couldn't read it earlier. It was nice to have Kohaku shine since she's been the scapegoat to show how powerful everyone else is for a while.
Even if the ropeway is a temporary means, like the loggers, having it stable to hold the 160 kg limit is a TON of work and science. We get to see it in how much set-up and prep work goes into making a solid rock formation on both ends, having layers and layers of reinforcement to knot each end in place, and the conversion of a bike motor to a pulley (I'm no mechanic but I know it's quite technical even if simple in theory).
Soooooo much character development (air head Taiju was probably my favorite moment other than Kohaku sticking the landing).
But Kohaku being the finesse/precision fighter was perfect for the real climax of the chapter! Hyouga realizes that Why-man is the bigger threat, and that science is necessary to win this war. His decision not to rebel and win over the earth with Xeno and Stan reflects that he already sees that Senku's outside of the box tactics are the winning side. Just like Xeno has to be fully won over, Hyouga will have to go through this same process over the rest of the series. He's being honest on wanting to team up with Xeno, but Senku will have to change this.
Despite the simplicity, Bochi really has a knack for scenery double spreads. Part of it is the excitement on Chrome's face, but the mix of victory, adventure, dread (from all the deadly animals), etc. is all put together in that final double spread for me.
I just realized the rafting is when they will be vulnerable to getting shot, so they will have to wait for the plane to run out of fuel when they start the final leg of the journey. So there has to be some other twist since they combat team will handle the big deadly creatures and Senku and Xeno handle safety with the tiny deadly creatures.
