The animation/art style for this is so fitting/beautiful! I love the colors!! This story really caught means sucked me in. I like the characters and the way they’re all intertwined together. I can tell already that Swindler is going to be the connection between them all that shows how little difference there is between human and Akudama. They made it obvious that that kitty was special from the very first time it was shown looking at the night sky. Her almost dying to save a cat in traffic was heavy foreshadowing but it’s all good. The story and action are good stuff. It was obvious that she was going to get wrapped up in his business from the moment she picked up the money and they showed him being a criminal—that bad luck statement was a clincher. I’m enjoying the relationship between Cutthroat and Swindler probably a little too much lol. Those poor kids though. They’re entirely too used to bad things. Being physically invulnerable/able to regenerate doesn’t mean your emotions should be cut off. They need to have them developed properly. I’m pretty sure that Courier knows Swindler is just a normal girl but doesn’t care enough to do anything about it. The way this job has been going though is nuts and they’re finally getting to close to the end. I love how they picked up a random low level guy who’s faking like he’s big time. Moving on... the cargo was little kids?! I mean I’ve already talked about them but for real. Each person’s reaction to that was telling. So yeah they got explosive collars first thing and Cutthroat blew up someone. Then decided he was in love with Swibdler and would protect her forever but was that because she had pink hair to start? Then it got more involved with her personality? Like I don’t get it but it’s been fun. I can’t believe Hacker went to Kanto. I hope he makes it safely. I want them to see each other again. He started to grow on me. The Executioners though—Brawler and the one coming to an understanding at the last moment. If only Hoodlum had arrived earlier they could’ve maybe not died but it is what it is. That Executioner was hot. But now he’s gone and his partner is disfigured because she dropped her weapon on her way over to him. That revenge is going to be ugly. Either that or she’s going to learn empathy for the other side because she feels the pain of the despair of the loss that caused the attack. I don’t know. Hoodlum is a perpetual liar so he might’ve been allowed to escape and just lied about it. Taking his rage out on a kid isn’t cool though. They’re finally at the destination. Or close to it. Expo Park. Now that means underground coordinates. Oh boy. Hidden Kansai. Can I just say that Shark and Bunny are...interesting? Like they look as if they were hit by that bomb and mutated. Is that intentional I wonder? It’s creepy funny weird but I go with it. So they’re going to the moon? It sounded great... until Doctor double crossed them and the executioners showed up. Then the moon was an illusion, all hell broke loose and Cutthroat went to town protecting Swindler again. Good stuff. I didn’t see Hoodlum around then but Courier put up a good fight and as an aside, when Hoodlum was talking to Brawler but he wasn’t there, that was sad. The backstory for those two kids was fricking heartbreaking. What is WRONG with these people?! Who could do that kind of horrific thing? 😭😭😭. When even Cutthroat thinks it’s wrong, that tells you something. The rocket took off with two of them in it, but where is it going and what’s going to happen to the boy? I bet Courier won’t think the job is complete even though he’s gotten paid. At least that’s my prediction. This is ALL over the place. Good luck making sense of it, especially if you haven’t watched it.
Also, the opening is so much fun. ^_^
