Opinion Voting #4: Math or Science?

Also I'm doing OV on Smashboards now too... so if I forget to post every now and then that's probably why : Anyway, with that outta the way(yada yada go read the first thread if you want to read the rules) let's get onto my opinion. I hate math. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it : it's always my worst class because I don't fucking understand half of what we're doing and when I finally do we've already moved onto "math equation that is a page long #109" and it's soooooo annoying to deal with. Science does also have some annoying equations(particually in physics) but overall I can tolerate it a bit more than math so. Yeah. That's about all you need to know on my opinion. Anyway, let's get to voting, shall we? :

Isn't math a form of science? Tho its practical use is not that fun in comparison with colorful/explosive chemical reactions, cute animals or shooting with an air gun in the class to meassure its speed But I would still count math as a part of science. I even met one teacher, who considered it as a form of language. Although the usage of its symbols and numbers tends to be defined in rather specific way, having just one meaning in comparison with the words and terms in classic languages... But I still found the thought quite "knowledge-broadening". But to go back to the topic. My math "ability" is very poor, I am not good at it and most of the time I was dying out of boredom or was p*ssed off, bcs we were called to solve problems very frequently, no matter how hopeless we were in counting XD On the other hand it can be playful and sometimes I enjoyed it too. Like when we needed to imagine 3D structures in geometry yet have them drawn all only on the 2D paper, that was fun. But if I'd have to choose, totally science for me, math is the enemy of my life

I kinda like both xD And they seem quite integrated with each other. Like, science has a lot of mathematical parts. I can't really see them as two separate things to choose between

Geography. Fucking hate math! Since first grade, it was always my worst subject together with physics.

I guess we don’t have any engineers or accountants to vote for math! I can 100% attest to it just coming down to having a great teacher. Literally 60-75% of the valedictorians and smartest people for my year were getting Cs or worse for advanced trigonometry. Over half the class (including me) just dropped down to the normal level class and we (or at least the people I was friends with) all aced the class. All it comes down to is explaining it simply. The advanced teacher made the questions easier but the vast majority of us just didn’t get it. It was like a light switch and all of us just got it with the right instructions. And we got screwed because we were the first year the older teacher stepped down and gave the advanced trig class to the younger teacher. We all joked that our GPAs would be saved if she pushed her decision back a year. Even calculus was easier. I never had to do calc 2, which is supposedly the hardest (goes up to calc 3 and 4 but these are theoretical calculations).

I love both science and math but can't bear to see math get zero votes, so voted for math xD

Math is great! But most people are buffoons, so I can understand why they may not comprehend its greatness!
