I wasn't really talking about Taiju and Yuzuriha's seperation only, but the whole Senku's team seperation, with Yururiha stayed Magma and his tiny underling, Nikki, Yo and such I think. I consider these characters to be rather minor, but they are still part of Senku's team, I used "twist of seperation" term in generilazed manner. Even I don't really find Yuzuriha and Taiju seperation to be important, like Senku, it was heartbreaking yea, but couldn't be changed, developement did not allow it, someone had to stay. The only thing I'm worried about is that most of the characters with great fighting skills left with Senku, so even if some sort of peace is arranged in North America, there is high possibility that Nikki and those, who were left, will be overpowered - the diplomacy plays the greatest role in the situation developement in North America.
Oh, I 100% agree that they all (everyone in Senku's group) have close relationships with everyone else (even if they don't want to admit it for people like Magma and his underling). The Taiju and Yuzuriha example is the most representative/has exaggerated impact because they love each other.
Yes, most of the combat team left with Senku. Other than Matsuzaka and Kinrou, the only other person in the group is Ginrou I think. So this makes the America side the small tangent that gets sporadic updates since the vast majority of the action is Senku trying to advance while Stan catches up.>
Francois is another league comparing to anyone actually, she has many experiences, is highly talented and is a great help when needed, but her main reason to be like that is to serve Ryuusui or serve in general. She may play a key role in the future, bcs of her enourmous information gathering skills - like Chrome with his observation skill (that documented space station message). But the leader is still Senku. So I don't think she would do sth on her own. But she is prepared for various possibilities all the time and can be counted on, that's for sure.
Yup exactly! She is the most "adult" in terms of her skillset than anyone else. Ryuusui might be second because he has some real world experience, but it is not for the highest levels of his area (while Francois is). Senku only has theories and has zero real world experience at the highest levels. >
I still find it weird that not so many chapters back Senku was dying, but now he's up and chipper. I suspect it's just an act, and when his worsened health is revealed, someone has to be counted on as a stand-by leader, probably Ryuusui, who is an experienced sailor and his Francois could be a great help to team's future decisions :) I will go a bit sidetracked to expand my wild thoughts - In the case such developement would happen, I thought Xeno (in the case he's more skillful in mediacal treatement than Francois and Luna are) would take advantage of these complications, deciding to save Senku through his knowledge, but probably only after his own conditions are fulfilled. Will see, if sth similar is going to happen or it's just a wild thought of mine...
I'm not too worried because the damage should almost exclusively be from the high G-forces from the dogfight. As long as he doesn't have to run around, he should have enough recovery to still be healing (only low levels of exertion are safe). He should have had some reopening of internal wounds, but only having small regressions is not that much of an exaggeration since we are already including manga exaggerations (the bullet impact minimization would need something much bigger per my understanding => it would work for old guns as shown and not something like a sniper rifle). >
I wonder how much more work will be needed to be done to completely persuade Xeno. Either it won't be easy at all and it will be done slowly by little steps Senku achieves on his current journey or Senku surprises Xeno with sth breath-taking (which might be even more difficult than the slow way, with Xeno being genius himself), or it will be a combination of the two.
Xeno, even tho he's so arrogant around "stupid" ppl as you've mentioned, he still holds Senku as someone talented and special in his heart (Xeno is so not honest with himself, he surpressed these thoughts quite often, but the previous moments of surprise tell otherwise) but sooner or later Xeno will have to accept Senku's naive goals, bcs Senku does bring a promissing future - he makes such a future miraculously possible...Of course many of us noticed this Xeno's character already. But still.. it's hard to tell, how will Senku manage to change Xeno's mind or if it's even possible to be done completely in the (near) future. Maybe Senku's enthuasiasm of a youngster for science will remind Xeno of his younger days and this way it will help with the "conversion" issue somehow, that is, if even such an objectively-thinking person like Xeno is able to feel nostalgic as Senku does often.....ahah, another of my musing appeared...
You mention my main points: I think Xeno only likes Senku for the potential of being persuaded to come to the "dark side" Xeno lives in. He likes the potential, but hates the "goody-goody naivety". I 100% agree that it has to be "complete" for the shift to change. I'm really thinking the chapter that had the title along the lines of thinking outside the box was the foreshadowing. Xeno is set on the previous "gold standard" (the accepted way of doing things and usually associated with the best way, but because it is the common way it cannot be universally the best). Senku has to come across a problem in South America that Xeno wants to do one way, it is impossible per Xeno's biases, and Senku "miraculously" overcomes the ordeal. It will probably be a chain of events with the biggest one being what tips Xeno's mindset (and probably just in time before Stan catches up to them since tracking people is a part of special forces). >
I was talking about older chapters, around chaps 100-140 I think, cca. Senku needed Ryuusui as a sailor to travel to the Treasure Island, they left many from Ishigami village and some Tsukasa's team members in Japan (they were mostly minor tho). I don't remember any split story-telling about what was happening in Japan, but it was probably bcs they were in rush to save Tsukasa back then and those who were left in Ishigami didn't do anything worth to be mentioned, but I still think there could be a quick peek back then, yet wasn't. Ooh wait, there was a peek, they were phoning with each other, now I remember, nice. But I'm still sceptical, if there will be any larger split story telling. It does make sense that there will be some, but I think it's more probable that it will be shown in a strategic twist-like short moments manner and not whole chapter-like one. Like a cut-scenes, to bring more tension, but tell only very little. I think like this, bcs characters that were left in North America are rather minor in my opinion, so the importance won't be put that much on the story developement in Norh America territory. This way when Senku gets back there, all of the changes will blow our and maybe even Senku's mind, waiting to be resolved or used by him according to the situation.
Ah, I got you now. I was thinking after this split. So yes, this is another example where Chrome's semi-girlfriend (keep forgetting her name...ah Ruri I think) had to be left behind along with the children, elders, and non-combatants. Senku already set up his "home base" with them and took the able bodied people to start the overseas adventuring which then got completely side-tracked by Treasure Island.
Other than Chrome having to awkwardly check in on Ruri, there is currently no need to see what's going on. All of them are fully independent with Senku's technology making life easy for them. They don't need the men, because tools/other science-y stuff does the work (ovens to survive winter). I think this changes if there is a supply chain to bring other things like manufacturing parts, 700 gallon barrels of revival fluid, etc. Then we will see regular updates on the progress. There is no progress, so no need for an update (or that's my bias).
I would like the sudden twist of the America "main base" suddenly being completed. Part of this is the chapter 170 content, but that seems mostly out of the picture for me. The pattern I see is that the necessary breadcrumbs are shown. There is going to be science involved in the rise of the America base, so these parts cannot be skipped over. It is key because it is going to be the start of mass manufacturing (so I'm biased to think South America has a key component for this to go through).>
That sounds interestingly complicated and would bring a great potential to the series, I think some of it will be shown for sure, if not most But I still think the main focus will be on Senku's current team traveling to South America, bcs majority of main characters are part of it.
Ah, this aspect is the bridge for the previous discussion points. The plot will eventually have to be very complicated because there will be "bases" all over the world. Adults might start causing problems (since it was introduced by Tsukasa, I think it has to at least happen once). Updates on working towards space travel will have to occur too (baby steps though). Just like One Piece, we have a very clear picture of the very end of the series. However, literary perfection with plot development is why all of us (unless someone is an actual rocket scientist) should have almost no idea on the bulk of the plot.>
Aaand we're not talking about One Piece here... Every author does it in their own way, so I wouldn't consider Oda's story-telling to be the main lead, even tho Inagaki may be inspired by Oda in a way. And I didn't say there won't be any split-story telling, only that the main focus will be on Senku's team who travels to South with only tiny bits of developement from North shown, to keep us in track, but to hide some surprises till Senku's return.
Do you make other analogies in discussions? Why are One Piece analogies "off limits"? Since this is a One Piece board, One Piece analogies should make things the most clear. I think the above part on knowing the ending but having no idea how it comes about cannot be made with most series. Most series make it easy to know the outline of what's going to happen. One Piece is predictable only because 80+% of the puzzle pieces are in place.
IF the story splits (which it isn't), then there are necessary changes to how the story/plot is developed. We do not know how Inagaki/Bochi would handle this, so I think it's fun to discuss and think of the possibilities. One Piece boards were huge because of the seemingly infinite potential. It will not last forever (discussions on One Piece are severely limited without contradicting a key breadcrumb). So I am going to enjoy it to the most while it lasts. And this even faster pacing means less to enjoy before it is highly predictable. It will still be enjoyable to get to the Why-man arc, but it is very different. This will be your first time having such an astronomical shift in a series. Literally infinite possibilities to complete predictability is something I've never seen anywhere else.
